Hello,
Just registered here because I barely have moral support and I don’t know who else to turn to. Hope I could get some advice.
Long story short, I’m barely 6 weeks and 2 days ago I went to A&E due to on and off spotting that had gotten heavier throughout the day while I was at work. Prior to this, I had spotting on 2 separate occasions last month, both happened during moments of stress and where I didn’t have enough rest. The OB that attended to me put me on dydrogesterone for 2 weeks until my next ultrasound on 23 April 2025. I’ve been on sick leave for 2 days however I’m supposed to go back to work today but woke up this morning to dizziness, nausea and bleeding again so I decided to report sick.
The thing is, I’ve just started a new job a week ago and I’m under 3 months probation. I’ve only worked 3 days and due to the incident at A&E, my OB put me on sick leave for 2 days and told me if I’m not feeling well, I should go to see a doctor and take sick leave as she informed me that perhaps it’s due to stress and the amount of walking I’ve been doing (my new job is located further than my previous) plus the hours are also longer. This is my second pregnancy as I’ve had a miscarriage before last year at around the same time (5-6 weeks). I’m really stressed and worried as my OB informed me that there’s still no heartbeat however there was a growth from 3.7mm to 5.5mm within 2 weeks from my first ultrasound.
My new job is also very stressful, as I was from a huge international company prior, my new boss and colleagues expect me to learn quickly even though I’ve only been here a few days. My new boss however is nice, just expects me to be on the ball due to my previous background and experiences. How do I inform them that I’m really stressed yet trying my best while managing a threatened miscarriage. How do I know this company is right for me? My other colleagues do OT almost every day and then continue work at home.
I’ve been feeling so alone in all of this and trying my best not to break down, my husband and I have been having some financial struggles lately and this new job is supposed to help. However, I don’t know if I can cope as I hope I would or stay. Will this affect my probation?
On the other hand, I’ve gotten another interview for another company with better working hours (my current company has 3 shifts) while this new job is just 8:30am to 6:00pm.
I’m in a dilemma as to what is best for me. Please help.
