Anyone using the Philips airfryer? Is it good?

- Does it make nice food ie: fries, chicken, etc? As compared to oil fried?

- Is it better than oven cooked food?

- Is it easy to clean and maintain?

I am asking bcos I am intending to get it but the cost factor is that is expensive and I am not sure if it is worthwhile getting it as sometimes it ends up as a white elephant at home.

Pls share your experiences..

I bought one for my DH sometime last yr! We haven't cooked a large variety of stuff, but the things we've tried include fries and chicken wings - and they taste good!

Chicken wings, you still have to season them first though, but you won't need the oil. DH loves it cos its easy to use.

Oh, and the thing good abt it is that the chicken wings come out really evenly cooked. :D

It's pretty large in size though, so you'll need a place to store it - almost the size of a rice cooker, and heavy too.

Cleaning wise... there's this metal gauze (dunno what you call it), but that's the "hardest" stuff to clean la.

I personally think it's a good buy, but maybe you can look around and see if there's any offers? I got mine at a discount... :p

Thanks for the feedback.

Wow the wings taste good? I am basically looking to 'fry' fries and wings sometimes nuggets, now there is a promo at $309 but still quite an investment still.

So you DH eat oredi wont get like sore throat? Bcos it's not oil?

Ya I saw the unit and it's a huge huge set...counter top wont have enuff space.

Airfryer much healthier.

I find airfrying any of the stuff from the frozen food section (fries, nuggets, wings etc) pretty good.

Only thing, I find the basket a bit small - cannot put too much in at the same time cos need air to circulate around the food to cook it.

Now price seems to have dropped to just below $300
