Pediatrician after delivery

Experienced mommies, how do u choose or appoint any pediatrician to check on baby after your delivery? Or usually hospital will assign any available one at the time?

During my first time in Mt A, I didn't know I need to inform my gynae for any preferred PD until he asked me after the delivery. Since I didn't have any preferred PD and had no idea abt it, he recomm 1 for me, but that PD eventually horrified my boy then. So this time I'm asking early to look for a "preferred" PD, hopefully he better experience.

I will be mostly likely choose to deliver at TMC, and EDD in first week October.

I delivered my 1st child at Thomson Medical Centre in 2010. At the time I also did not have any PD in mind but my gynae knew I was determined to breastfeed so he recommended a breastfeeding-friendly PD for baby's first checkup. I found the PD ok so we continued with him after being discharged from hospital.

Jus to share: Both my kids at tmc, pd chosen by my gynae. I remember one is Ang Ai Tin. Very friendly lady, but queue time quite long. Only went for 1-2 visits, subsequently i went to polyclinic for the 5-in-1 and other jabs. I also found a standby PD in case polyclinic is closed for the day.

When I delivery #1 in Mt. A, they appointed a PD who's clinic is at Bt Timah. Too far, not patient so only went once and after that took all jabs at polyclinic. #2 delivered at SGH n wasn't appointed any PD n I just went polyclinic for jabs and jaundice follow ups. If baby falls sick I will go to a GP that also sees babies. Never been to PD.

I didn't specify a PD when I delivered at tmc in Feb.. i was assigned dr tan kuan yang. If I ever have no 2 id def choose him !
very friendly , professionAl and the waiting time isn't too long

I delivered in TMC.
If you don't have your own PD. they will just assign Dr Ang Ai Tin to you, she is their resident PD.
she was also assigned to me though I knew I did not want her. But because the PD of my choice (Dr Ang Poon Liat) that use to be the resident PD in tmc but because he is older now he does not do hospital rounds anymore (semi retired) I did not have a choice.
But once I was discharged, I only go to Dr Ang Poon Liat. He is soooooo good.
