MEDELA BREAST PUMP

I agree with rachelphelp. Invest in a good pump and make breastfeeding a great experience! I've been using medela breast pump for both my two kids. This is a really good investment.

Hi Mommies,
I read on a website that it is not hygienic to use 2nd hand over-the-counter retail breastpumps, even if you change the accessories like tubings and funnels because for these retail pumps, the milk actually touches the inside working parts of the retail pumps. The hospital-grade pumps however, are designed differently such that the milk does not touch the inside working parts of the pump, so as long as you change the external accessories, there are no problems at all sharing a hospital-grade breastpump among mothers.
This is where i got the information - http://www.thebabyspecialist.com.sg/breastfeeding-faq/#breastpumps.
I think for things like hygiene and baby's health, better to play safe...

One of the probs with medela pump is when u need servicing or change motor, they will test and tell you motor working condition, although u feel its becoming sluggish. If you need change of motor (medela mini electric plus) the cost is $250, same as buying new set, so might as well throw away the set...sigh..so expensive.

Hi, i'm a 1st time mum and do really want to invest in a good breast pump. Can anyone please tell me the difference between PIS Advanced and Free style? Are they user-friendly? Pls advice.

For a mum who did total expression and always like to go out as and when, i'll recommend freestyle... comes with heavy duty re-chargeable battery, no need to worry about finding power outlet when outside and can move around, to attend to baby, etc... plus it's much smaller and lightweight but with the good suction power...

Thanks very much for your advice! I've heard about the importance of a good suction motor which can prevent blocked milk ducts, hence i think it is important to invest in a good breast pump.

Hi, i have a PISA (US set) in metro bag for sale. Lightly used during my confinment month to help increase my milk flow. Very good and new condition as i have never take it out of the house and the pump is still packed in the box now. Do PM me if any mummies is interested.

Highly recommended the PIS
a good investment especially if u intend to have more than 1 kid.
i got mine from my cousin in law ( after her 2 kids) and serve well for my 2 children too!!

very reliable, strong and total asset for BM!
It's important to get one with good motor power hence the PIS is really the "industrail" type which as last and perform!

hi all, i'm a user of PIS (for a yr now and counting) and i'd say it's performance is very good. mine is the US set. Currently I'm doing a bulk purchase for most medela products (pumps, accessories etc). If you are keen, kindly PM me or email me at [email protected]. Thanks!
