Hi everyone, i'm looking for couples who decided to get married, after dating for just six months or less. This is for a story in a local magazine. If you're open to sharing your story, pls feel free to reply here or PM me!
Hi xhlee123455,
I would like to share our story and I feel that I'm one of the blessed ones to be able to walk down the aisle with this great man.
I am 25 this year, a divorcee cum single mother of a 5-year-old and first met my fiancé, who is one year my junior, at his workplace. I was his client then.
He proposed to me on the 5th month we dated. Of course, it raised eyebrows and we received lots of questions. Some really nasty ones we heard of were 'Are you sure she's the one, 1 plus 1 leh!', 'So fast? Shotgun is it?'. Nevertheless, all those did not make him waver his decision. In fact, I was the one who had second thoughts and asked him to reconsider this major decision.
Ever heard of those stereotyped traditional Asian families? Initially, I was so skeptical about re-marrying and have my child suffer with me should my future in-laws not accept my situation. Thank goodness i was spared of these and I am really, really relieved that his family members treat her like their own grand-daughter. They came into my life and changed my perspective.
The saying goes 'Action speaks louder than words', I saw this in my fiancé as he puts in his utmost effort to let me know he is sincere in accepting the both of us. He participated in every event as a father and would make plans for her on his day off, activities like visiting the local indoor playgrounds & river safari.
All of the above sounds so good isn't it, that is why I feel that I'm one of the luckier women out there especially as a divorcee and single mom. Everything has progressed smoothly thus far and we will be holding our wedding on my birthday this year, double happiness it is!
