Was introducted this Prufirst gift by 2 prudential agents during the baby market expo, we didn't sign up as my husband has many concerns :

1) The coverage is not attractive, lump sum payout of $5,000 per child for Congenital Illnesses and Hospital Care Benefit of $100 a day up to a limit of $2,500 .. Normally, if there is anything happened, the hospitalization fee will be more than 10K. I got a colleague paid 30K just for 12 days of hospitalization of her baby boy, and is under government hospital.

2) Need to continue to pay (e.g. 100 per month) .. if didnt continue then the coverage will be worked like investment linked insurance.

Hi All,

Just for your info if you are thinking of getting a pregnancy insurance plan from AXA or Prudential.

If you are currently covered under AIA HealthShield Gold Max, you can claim for certain pregnancy complications, and new born baby of congenital issues. You can check your policy documents for the exact details, or check with your advisor. You may not need to spend the additional money on a pregnancy insurance plan, unless the intention is to get guarantee cover for your newborn of death and critical illnesses at birth, under an ILP plan.

hi everyone AIA has a new plan covering mothers and babies. The basic plan covers the mum and transfers to the baby after birth, and the rider provides and additional benefit for pregnancy complications, hospitalisation due to pregnancy complications (for mum) and congenital illness (for baby). The hospital benefit of $100/day for the child extends to having to be incubated, premie NICU, ICU, and hospitalisation for HFMD (cover extends from birth to 3 yrs up to a max of $3k).

While the sum my not be sufficient to cover all costs, it is something worth considering because it means your child receives life protection without medical underwriting.

If any mummy is interested I'll be happy to share more with you. I'm with AIA and a mum of 3. You can contact me at 90027696 or PM me.
