Hi mummies,

I am currently having my 2nd bb, in my 1st trimester only.
My first bb was born in 2010 .

I am thinking to change to a gynea as my current gynea doctor is getting old, 65 this year.

I am losing confidence in his skills due to his age and I see less business in his clinics nowadays. Wonder if it is of his age.
He is a very experienced doctor though.

Please recommend me if able, my citeria as follows:
1) Male gynea, must be skillful in c-section
2) not too old, 40-50 plus at most
3) shorter waiting times for check ups (i can go on weekdays)
4) west or central area

thank you in advance for all advices

Bishan ok with you? My gynae fits the 1st 3 citeria

Hi Ica,

Yes, Gleneagles too, in fact all private hospitals. I delivered in Mt. E. He also has night clinics at Boon Lay MRT station.

Hi Springleaf

Oh, just realised that Dr John Yam has a practice in Gleneagles too. I hope he's still there. Thanks for the recommendation. I was looking for a Dr with very good and discreet c-sect stitching and he sounds perfect as other reviews says he's very caring and patient, not the chop-chop rush-rush kind. Is this how you felt with him too?

Hi Ica,
Yes his main clinic is Gleneagles though I used to see him at the Boon Lay MRT branch.
Rest assured he's indeed very accommodating to patients.

I just had my c-sect with Dr Gordon Lim. He's quite skillful with his stitching. I don't really have to wait long in the clinic. He's at Gleneagles, level 10.

My second c-sect by Dr Phua Soo Mear (Kovan)

I'd a very bad experience with my 1st gynae and a very thick & ugly line after that.

But Dr. Phua's skill is very good. My line is so fine now almost like a pencil line.

His charges is very affordable too, highly recommnended.

Hi,

I just had my csection last week. My gynae is from SGH, Dr Devandra. He is a very nice doctor with good skills too.

I had my last csection done by him in year 2008 too. It's just a line and the wound actually heals very fast.

I don't feel any pain on the second day of my csection for both deliveries.

Highly recommended!!! =)

I have a very good gynae that fits the criteria above. His name is Dr BEH SUAN TIONG. He is at Thomson medical 5th floor

No advices? My first and current gynae csec gives me a big scarring and he is always referring me to specialists when i ask him qns. Recommendation is really appreciated. Thx...

I think Dr Adrian Woodsworth is very good if you are looking for c-sec. Stitching very good, no ugly scar and very experienced. Waiting time for regular visits could be rather long. He is at sengkang compass point (can go shopping to pass time) and choa chu Kang. Hope it helps

can i ask why yr gynae MUST be a man? my frens always tell me to go for women cause they have bad experinece with man doctor (lack of sympathy) and insensitive. Infact one of my fren deliver in malaysia many years ago the doctor the man after delivery check up she complain the stitches down there all feels very sore and painful and he just say its normal. but after 2 times complain the lady doctor offered to take a look cause she was very uncomfortable keep saying a tight feeling (extreme pain try to pass motion) the lady doctor just cut a little bit of the stitches to loosen a bit and her relief immediate. Because of her story i never ever once try the male doctor. always go for lady. so im just curious why you EXCLUSIVELY want a man if you dont mind sharing

hi Hazel, the original thread starter posted the qn in 2012... She probably dun check this thread le. :)

hi ymt, think not very good to post here. Maybe its just a misfit of character between me n gynae and maybe i scar easy...

hi smallsweetz, thanks for the recommendation. but am more looking for kkh doc.. i think the facilities are better and bills probably cheaper. Actually i am toying with the idea of vbac but with my current gynae, its impossible.

I would recommend Dr Tho Chin Keong, his clinic is at jurong east st 21 or Prof Biswas from NUH. He is the head of dept and is very experienced with c-section and high risk pregnancies.

@applebreeze28 saw u mentioning abt Dr CK Tho... actually im not looking for c-sect and in fact v new to this forum becos im looking for reviews on good Doc and more abt Dr Tho too. U went to him and is he v patient and attentive? I went to Dr Adrain Woodworth and he is v fast during our first appt..
