Dear Forum Members,
In recent years, there seems to be an upsurge in IVF cases involving female aged-related fertility. Therefore, I like to start a thread to discuss which are the best fertility doctors specializing in treating older women with poor egg quality, and their trade secrets.
Based on information gathered from several websites and forum threads, there appears to be two major strategies for improving IVF outcome in older women with poor egg quality.
(1) Firstly, dietary uptake of special nutritional supplements and vitamins have been scientifically proven to improve egg quality and IVF outcome:

Of the various major vitamins and supplements available, the most potent of these appear to be DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone). This is a powerful hormone that acts as a precursor to testosterone and estrogen. Recent studies show that DHEA may help increase follicular stimulation and estrogen production in women. Since DHEA production declines with age, taking a supplement may help improve egg quality for women diagnosed with Decreased Ovarian Reserve (DOR) or Premature Ovarian Failure (POF). Keep in mind that DHEA should not be taken in high doses due to potential side effects.
(2) Secondly, the timing of egg retrieval:
For older women, their eggs need to be retrieved a bit earlier, when follicle sizes (ultrasound scan) are slightly smaller, or else, they will become "over-ripe" and go bad quickly (atresia), resulting in poor egg quality, and reduced chances of IVF success:

How Supplements Can Improve Egg Quality For Fertility
Poor egg quality can be the determining factor in whether you or your patient can get pregnant.
