Hi princess! I am seeing Dr Wendy Teo at Mt E Novena. She is friendly, gentle, assuring and nice! Her first consultations is about $120, subsequent is $80 onwards. Scan is $80

does Dr wendy Teo offer any delivery packages ?
She offers a package from 16 weeks towards up to delivery at 1k currently. I think it includes her consultation fees, scans and urine tests. Her delivery charges starts from 3.9k, depends on how you want to deliver.

oh ok thanks for advise

Hi jotan33, which gynae are you seeing in NUH? Is he/ she good?
I'm not fixed to any gynae yet.. still choosing my gynae too.. my sil just gave birth at nuh, she chose A/Prof Su Lin Lin.. some of my frens advise me to choose male gynae as they seem to be better..

I'm seeing Dr Heng Tung Lan at Parkway East and she's very friendly and motherly. My first appointment was $120 consultation but total adds up to $270 after GST with ultrasound ($80), vitamins ($10), calcium tablets ($5) and fish oil ($40). Her package is $1k from 12wks onwards and her delivery charge $2k (normal) onwards before Feb 2016.

i'm considering Dr wendy teo but her package price seems quite steep.. so it's package price of $1k + delivery charge from $3.9k??

Im currently with dr ml yeap frm thomson which really sad.. She seems dun really interested on my each visit.. She dun have delivery package as well. Each time her consultation costed me sgd1++..i felt so uncomfortable and lost since this is my 1st pregnancy... U noe as a new mother i need more advices. Im having a slight pain at my lower part of my stomach and i asked her 3 times and she just gave me a simple n fast answer "as long as virginal no bleeding then is ok".. I decided to change to dr benjamin tham but he dont accept new patients and his schedule are full till march 2016!!!!! :-(

Yup, but do take note that the charges go up from time to time. Usually her package starts after the 16 to 20 weeks. Gynae's delivery charges depends on whether it is a normal delivery with or without epidural or c section, etc. Her charges I would say is quite on a averagely high side. It depends on your budget. Personally, I feel very comfortable with her and I prefer a female gynae.

How many months are you at? Actually we all have stomach pains from time to time. It may be our ligament stretching. If the pain is short while it's still OK. If the pain persists, there is bleeding etc, please do see a doctor immediately.

Im seeing Dr. Choo wan ling at Gleneagles for my #3. She helped me deliver my #2. I must say Im really happy with her, very patient, and most importantly answer and explain every worry/query i have (although she knows im not a first time mummy).

I am also seeing Dr. Heng Tung Lan at Parkway East Hospital! She is really nice and good. Waiting time in her clinic is long too!!! But her clinic is always full to brim! =)

Dr Su Lin Lin is good. I had Dr Anupriya, who delivered my no.2 without need for episiotomy. I was back to doing housework on Day5 post delivery.

I think NUH is a great hospital for maternity and pediatric services. We're back to consulting at NUH for my no.3

Hello wens, I am considering making an appointment with Dr Choo...
May I know if you went through natural/csect with her? Any feedback on her stitching?
Also, how are the quality of her ultrasound scans? Is she patient in providing details e.g. explaining parts of baby, heartbeat?

Hi I am new here, anyone have experience with Dr Claudia Chi from NUH. I am considering to follow up with NUH for antenatal and delivery - anyone knows their delivery charges and any recommanded doctors?

Hi, Jenvy, my gynae is Dr EK Tan at NUH. My baby is 5 mths now. I am very happy and glad to have him as my gynae when my private gynae rejected me due to a few reasons. EK Tan is a very nice, patient and caring gynae. So for those who dont mind a male gynae, i would recommend him. only cons is long waiting time even with appt.

Hi @littleoneinme I'm sorry I just saw your msg here. I had no problem with her stitching at all, in fact I would say it was very good. She helped me deliver my 2nd baby and everything went so smoothly, I felt very minimal pain down there and I healed quite ok.

This compelled me to share this story with you and other mummies (not to badmouth my 1st gynae but merely to share what I went through with my #1 birthing experience). I gave birth my #1 at Parkway East and Dr. Heng Tung Lan was my gynae. I would say she was quite ok throughout my 9 months check ups (friendly but wouldn't explain so much details if I had 'my first mummy' questions coz each patient only has less than 5 minutes). Then my nightmare with her started after I gave birth to my son. I was feeling a GREAT amount of 'cut' pain down there, something which I couldn't explain with words, and I couldn't walk normally (because each time I took a step I felt like something was being 'CUT' down there), so let alone sit down. I had to use a swim float to sit down to help ease the pain but still it didn't help much. So I decided to see her earlier than scheduled, and she had a look at the stitching and when I asked her if this amount of pain was normal and happened to other women, she said, "No, you are the only one". Not more not less, word by word that's what she told me. No further explanation, no nothing. At the end, she prescribed me a HAEMORRHOID cream. I went home and applied religiously for 2 weeks and it didn't get better one bit. I didn't know why I didn't have the courage to take a mirror and see for myself what was going on down there. But when I did I was so shocked - I saw something was popping out (literally) from my vagina. It looked like a small piece of meat from inside my vagina being squeezed out and tied so hard in between the stitching. I was boiling with anger and felt so sad too at the same time, feeling down for the fact that why my gynae (who is also a FEMALE) wouldn't go the extra mile at least explaining why and what was happening. Perhaps her labours were very easy but mine happened to be a misery and I expected her to be slightly more understanding coz she was the one who stitched my vagina! I didn't even bother contacting her again and immediately contacted Dr. Choo Wan Ling (after recommended by a friend) to seek explanation and solutions to my problem. I was SO happy that I found her - she explained to me patiently in great details what it was and what options I had. Sure enough, it was not a haemorrhoid and a haemorrhoid cream definitely wouldn't heal my wound. For a such experienced gynae, I was just very surprised at the way she handled my case. I wouldn't say she's not a good gynae but my experience with her happened to be an unfortunate one. Not to mention, she induced me without informing me beforehand! I thought this could be an illegal case (inducing a pregnant mummy without her consent) but I didn't want to think about it. After all, my son was healthy and that was all that matters.

Hello wens, thank you for sharing your feedback with Dr Choo.

Sorry to learn of your horrible experience you went through for your 1st. Great to know all is well now. Thank you so much for sharing. It is even more important now for me as a first timer to find that obgyn who is patient, meticulous and caring towards me as I go through the pain and joy of childbearing.

Ic, thank you for the recommendation but I personally prefer a female gynae. I am still vexing over which gynae I should go for in NUH.

That's good. Wanted to book an appointment with Dr Su at NUH too but she is on leave till Jan 8. That would be like the end of my first trimester already to get an appointment with her. It is my first pregnancy, just a bit worried thus wanted to see a gynae by week 8 to check if everything is alright.

oh, wat my sil did is her first 16 wks she is under subsidy rate with NUH clinic G, after tat she then book with dr su and switch to her.. as Dr Su package also start frm wk 18 or 20 onwards. prior to tat is per visit rate.

I did the same too.. was under subsidy rate at NuH till wk20 before i am due for my detailed scan i switch to my currenr gynae.. probably u can consider this method..

I'm currently with Dr Wendy Teo and I agree Mandiz that she is friendly, gentle and assuring. I'm still in my early second trimester thus have not discussed with her on the delivery package and subsequent charges. So far, the experience with her is so far so good :)
Will inform once I have more details on her charges etc after I see her in mid Dec.

@littleoneinme I was looking through this thread and although abit late, would like to contribute that my gynae is also Choo Wan Ling. I have seen her since pre-pregnancy days when i was concerned if i could conceive due to my irregular periods. She is very patient and gentle and is always happy to answer questions no matter how silly they sound. Naturally i went back to her when I was preggy with #1. Still always patient and answering my incessant questions (gan chiong mtb haha) with a smile. She delivered my #1 via C-sect cos he is breech. The op was smooth and to be honest, I never felt a single tinge of pain from delivery till recovery. After 1 week, I have a slight inflammation of my wound, just redness and swelling but no pain and so I called the clinic to ask about it. Instead of communicating through her staff, her service was very personalised and i communicated with her via whatsapp through her personal phone so that she could have a look at the wound. Then she told me to go down the next day and gave me the first slot and examined me. Thereafter a few days later, i went back for her to re-examine and she never charged me at all. The stitching has since recovered flawlessly and it's almost non-existent now unless i examine it. Also she advised me not to take Sheng Yu after op cos it will "over-heal" the wound and it will not be smooth and nice after recovery.

It's my second pregnancy now and I am still with her. Even though i am not a first time mum, there are some questions that i m sure i have asked her previously that i have forgotten now and she is still ever so patient and nice. Totally trust her with my LO's and my well-being =)
