Hi time for change. .. u develop piles when u preg or b4 u preg alrdy hv? How bad is it now? Internal prolapse pile or external?I have haemorroids that flares on and off. I notice it's more on than off these days. It can be quite scary to look down and see blood in the bowl. Went to see a colon specialist and even had a colonoscopy. He said nothing wrong except for piles. Tried the band and that didn't help. Need to go for surgery. In the meantime I need to take medication to help reduce inflammation. Been procrastinating surgery as it requires hospitalisation. Have 3 kids and no time.

Hi,Hi Time for Change,
Have you gone for the surgery yet? does natural birth worsen your pile condition?
Hi Jessie,Hi,
Is your specialist good/skilful ? If yes, Can recommend ? I have piles since 10 years ago when I was pregnant with my first one. I have 3 children. It's like a bunch of grapes literally. I went to a specialist before . Checked and said they existed internally and externally. On the very same day, asked me want to go straight for surgery and even a colonoscopy! Of course I say no. Mentally not prepared.
It's hurts on and off especially when I get heaty and have a hard bowel movement. Recently they seem to get worst. They hurt so bad until I need to take Panadols to minimise the pain . I am contemplating a surgery but dunno whether should I . Dunno which specialist to go and whether any side effects after the surgery . I cannot afford not to walk for too long.
Any advice anyone?
It’s nice to come across people who’ve visited the same clinic. I went there before for haemorrhoids, and Dr Sharon Koh looked after me. I was a bit embarrassed at the start, but she helped me feel comfortable and provided the appropriate treatment. So, I had pile issues a while back (not pregnancy-related), probably from long hours sitting and a poor diet back then. I saw Dr Koh from Colorectal Practice, and he was practical about treatment and helped me sort it out with surgery options. Adding more fibre and water helped too, but getting it properly checked gave me peace of mind.
