telly, if u nak main main aje, playdates oso good enough. Yr doter le learn thru play. At 9mths, many tings they learn from their peers. Like Adam, he learnt many things wen i bawak dia join playdate. Not oni dia learn, i oso learn other stuff from the mommies.

9mths mayb too young untuk yr doter to join PG. But macam Lani mention, mayb enrichment class is good. My boy dari 9mths pegi swim class. Then after dat, i oso ada bwk dia pegi trial class. Ada yg free ada yg kena bayar. hahaha... Setakat buang masa je, and to understan the class well. Ape salahnye.

i see that my gym has an outlet at woodlands. that's sooo convenient for me. i'll call and find out more.

And yes, kalo nk antar yr doter pi swim class, either u or hb kene masok pool. For me, i antar every weekend so hb lar yg masok.

Tapikan benda2 tu semua bersih tak?? Hee hee bukan ape,i ni neurotic person..lol..kalau DS terpegang benda2 kotor/berabok in public mcm semacam rasanye..will go everywhr with Dettol wipes/antibacterial instant hand foam OR if its nearby, cepat2 balik mandikan. Budak kalau sakit kita jugak yg susah nak jagakan but i heard its gd once in a while tht kids be exposed to bacteria n such so to build their immune system.. Well, I dont knw hw true it is,as for me..I wouldnt want to take the risk!!

RMS, i'm looking for a playpen and a cheap, light and good umbrella stroller for the times when i need to make short trips with my dd. must be light, hor? because my block has no lifts and i'll pengsan if i have to carry the stroller up and down the staircase. u have any?

Voguemama, the blk is actually quite far from Yew Tee Mrt tau. It's way on the other side. Kalau jalan dari stn MRT confirm mandi peluh. I pun tinggal Bt Panjang jugak.

Telly, I am a former teacher lah. Sekarang dah pencen duk rumah jaga anak jer.

oh she is born in year 2004 nov. called up iyad and the principal says she is qualify.

tadi pagi dah register my girl. anyway i tak in a hurry ah.. i just standby aje incase my mum tak leh jaga. so tak kelam kabut. now at least tak stress sangat.

have you sent adam to any enrichment classes or PGs yet? at first i thought of sending sarah to 1/2 day CC or playschool, but then i re-considered (i scared she too young and will have bad seperation anxiety), and decided will do so in mid-2007 instead. for now i am gonna send her for those 1x/wk enrichment class 1st. i have signed her up for Julia Gabriel, but then now on waiting list, so see if got place for her next yr lah.
 
Lani, JG so ex lar. Then so far, hv to go town. So definitely out for me. Why dun try yr neighbourhood see ada PG for yr gal tak? I called up this place: www.edufarm.com.sg cos my fren kata dorang ada PG class for 18mths old. But then everyday v terok oso lah cos i takut si Adam ada separation anxiety. So i try out the gym class dulu. Once a week 45 mins. Kalo dia da okie w env n teachers, mayb ru switch tu full PG class. Pun murah jgk tau. Oni ard $47per mth.

Actually i oso contemplating whether wan snd him to the mentioned PG or childcare. Cos PG normally 1.5hrs nt much discipline. Tapi full day childcare, kids learn abt discipine and class rules atc. Wat to n not. Besides the fees more or less the same. So still tinking.....

U tak nk antar Sarah pi cc ke? For me, CC tend to learn more tg. Nt just coloring and bye bye.

bestlah dengar some of you'all dah register anak pi PG or CC. I kat sini masih terkial-kial gitu... dunno mana satu nak pi register then on top of that the plan of registering maybe akan tergendala sebab i think i'm pregnant....
Nak pi cari keje pun tergendala and semua kena stall....... kwang kwang kwang...

anyway 90% of the PG or CC that I check, the food they serve are all <font color="ff0000">NO PORK NO LARD NO BEEF BUT FROM HALAL SOURCES BUT GOT NO MUIS CERT... </font> camna eh? except for the melayu punya-lah...Those mummies yang dah ada experience, silalah beri pendapat anda tentang perkara tersebut. Kita macam takut but nak try but was-was gitu, abih jadi blur sekejap...

Yeah mixedUp, which gym class yang cuma $47 a mth. That's quite affordable considering I'm not working. My son pun just turned 18 mths so I thought of sending him to these once a week classes.

Like telly, I pun particular soal makan. But that's for full time childcare kan? Kalau these short classes ada makan jugak ke?
 
Mrs H, I took NPL before I resigned because my son doesn't want me. The bond was not there as I always went off to work before he woke up and then he only saw me at home at night. Even though mine was a single session sch, there was just too much work to be done so asyik balik lambat.

Tup-tup pregnant with no 2. Husband kasi go head sign so now I'm staying home to look after my sons. InsyaAllah, kalau dah besar sikit dorang, I might reconsider going back to teaching.

i looked ard my area already for PGs - don't have any good ones. so far the good ones i've found are in the east coast/siglap/marine parade area, but classes usually start at 9am+. too early for my dd lah! she only wakes up at 9am!

i definitely intend to send her to half day CC, because i also believe they learn and pick up SOOOO much more when they go to CC, but only after she turns 2, so that would be mid-2007. so i thought from jan-jun 2007 i can just bring her to JG 1st, just to expose her to some kind of class, to get her used to the idea of going to "school".

as for CC, i have already seen a few places, so now still deciding lah. for now, i am deiciding b/w Kinderland and Cherie Hearts. then our plan also not very concrete yet, cause we may decide to move some time next yr, so i think it's best that we send her to CC only after we've bought a new place, so that she doesn't have to change CC.

with regards to food at CC, i am ok with those that offer NO PORK NO LARD NO BEEF BUT FROM HALAL SOURCES BUT GOT NO MUIS CERT. i guess it's up to the individual and what's their comfort level lah. for me i am not that particular.

Oooh all mummies are at the stage busy shopping for CC and PG for the little ones... in 2 yrs time my turn will come again...

When my girl was abt this stage I sent her to many enrichment classes but all doesn't interest her... sent her to tumble tots, ballet class, speech &amp; drama classes all waste of money accept for the I CAN READ programme which I'm really thankful. She really hated it when I finally put her in a FTCC at Orchid Country Club... Nice ambience but don't think she learns anyhting from that school accept for playing &amp; dreaming
 
me too sourcing for weekly PG somewhere around Sengkang cos I'm too lazy to travel far far duing weekends..

Hi all. I'm new to this thread. Nice to know there's such a forum. I'm a FTWM with a 20 month old boy. Staying in Bedok-Kembangan area.

I'm considering to put him in a playgroup to mingle with other kids. Has been looking around but there's not many 2 hours playgroup in the area. I will be going to see one of those RC playgroups this coming Monday to see how is it first. Will update you guys how does it go.

My baby will be taken care by my mom and my sil nak kasi baby cot to us. Cadang tu nak letak the baby cot at my mom place. Do you think wise for me to get play pen for my baby for sleeping at my place. I takut nak overspend skali tak terpakai. What you think? Any lobang for tukang urat lepas bersalin tak yang bole travel ker west. How much will be the cost. Sorry first time entry mcm2 tanya...

Congrats! Try not to think so much of the delivery, insya Allah everything will be smooth. Prepare more for the taking care of the new born after that.

For me, my mom took care of my son too. So we had 2 of everything. There's a cot at my mom's place and a playpen at my place. Playpen nowadays are quite affordable. If possible, try not to put them on the same bed as you. Nanti melekat!
