my cousin stay 4rm flat, wife not work, still manage go holiday malaysia. dat time he went 2x! dun think his gaji big but his finance commitment pun tak besar. my masseuse in her 40s,has 6 kids. she only start working after 5 or 6kid born. hubby dia 0level saja then slowly work up. now he earn $3.5k.she top up with another $2k. she said if not 6 kids,she no need work.

I agree it all depends on luck but I'm not the type to take the risk and I value my privacy. I won't feel at ease having a stranger in the house. My husband is also against having a maid. For now, I'm lucky as my aunt is still able to handle both my sons. Can't say the same if I decide to have a no 3.

Misha, my working hours is almost the same as yours. Mine's from 12-6.30pm. But I'm a flexi adjunct. So no meetings/ trainings during the holidays. Lesson prep and marking are all done in school. That is one of the 'syarat' my husband imposed on me when he agreed to let me go back to teaching, "No bringing of work home." And it's working pretty well.

This morning I got a shock bec a girl from another dept came back to work after just barely one month from delivering her first child.

Muke dia masih sembab lagi.. water retention agakye. I asked her why she came back early she said her boss asked her to come to werk 1/2 day for a few days a week to clear her work. her boss memang well-known to be ngiau. She is an admin staff, ade keje ape yg only she can do???

I must investigate further bec bende macam gini kite tak bole encourage. Kalau satu org bole buat nanti yg lain pun bole ikut kan dah ade precedence. Lagi lagi my work environment ni tak suke pple with family but they claim to be pro-family. Tak bagus ni. I must have a talk with that girl lagi.

so currently ur deal is you come back after 2 mths then they pay u for the 3rd mth (one mth)? kalau macam gitu u still entitle to ur 1 mth maternity leave, but must clear with 6 mths from delivery date. thats the deal I got last time. so the 1 mth leave tu spread la.

abt maids, i feel the same way also especially about supervision part. Maids depends on their profile la.. whether can trust or not. definately will put cameras if got maid with nobody ard.

Baru I seriously thinking of getting part-time maid then this topic come out. good to read all views n experience. for me, kalau dah tired, no need for time mgmt. everything i leave it as it is. My baby milk bottles also boleh tak cuci a few days. lagi lagi i breastfeed bila come back work n at nite.

just checked out PT maid is %50 1-time fee n $12/hr. the rate dah naik eh? tot its $10/hr only! My colleague ceritakan me that she very strict with her n her sis maid. tak buat betul, threaten to send back agency. kalau mop basah sangat, threaten to take away mop n then mop pakai rag n hands. n windows kalau dusty, cakap lazer - use the dust for her face creaM! haha.. she really make sure her pennies are worth!

first time i hear such arrangement. actually all the 3 mths maternity shd be paid whether u work or take leave kan? if not wrong, first 2 mths govt pay for ur pay, extended 3rd mth is ur company pay. pr somthing like dat. If u come back for 3rd month, then u shd be able to take ur extended maternity leave (1mth) in smaller portions instead of 1 whole shot. means u still entitled to take that 1 mth. i read it somewhere on MCYS webby or something like dat. my employer is govt so dunno abt private companies. For my maternity, got alot of PH so i feel cheated coz now they take PH = 1 day maternity instead of Off day.

Misha, can, as long as you're an ex trained teacher but subject to MOE's approval. I resigned because I wanted to spend time with my 1st boy and pregnant with my 2nd. After 2 years, this year, baru make a comeback.

Working after just a month of giving birth? Wah, I can't do that man. I'ld rather stay home and rest fully.

think usually depends on ur own ccmfort level, family support etc. but its other pple experiece also food for tots. my 1st is mainly depends on comfort level - only after i felt emotionally ready. so i am mostly happy n excited.

Already thinking when to have 2nd baby, mostly coz of age vs year gap. probably will try to get fit n pass IPPT first.. haha! coz my health macam deteriote aft give birth.

give birth at 30ish or not, think once already at 2nd or 3rd baby mesti tired. health plays a part also esp impt for recovery. but give birth 30ish more financially stable? I have the thinking chinese likes financial stability before baby coz they see babies as LIABILITY, sucking all their money! but for me, its the opposite coz u cant compare the joy to money.

Money are for spending! ahhaa.. but saving is impt also. for me, saving small amt regularly only possible when nv see the money! if saving the amt can see the digits, i will save in big amts. if not...... tunggu gaji je..lol

yg lagi satu nye 1 ada banyak Annual Leave (35days) lum clear habis...i dah work this co 11+yrs....my boss cakap our co kecik lah taks emesti nye leh claim the 3rd mth...so if to take cuti nobody replace me...after 2mth i balik but he nak bayar 1mth je...kalau betul he confirmed like dat i rugi lah my ML (1mth) and i won't declare to CPF to claim back to company lor....biar dia company rugi and i lagi rugiiiiiiiiiiii.

tu lah, i semalam nak cakap dgn that girl pon dia macam takut dgn i. Tapi I ade tanye her fren why come back early, kawan dia cakap dia yg arrange... funny rite.. I will get to the bottom of this. My office manager cum HR kat sini led by the nose by BIG boss, takde power. Kalau BIG boss cakap baru follow takde initiative.. Ade ke male collegue punye wife give birth, i suruh dia hantar fruit basket dia cakap company policy give to female employees only. When I insist dia suruh i tanye big boss sendiri... terrible rite this kind of pple. I go and ask, big boss got no problem with it pun.

hah.. today i baru dengar tomoro is "spend time with ur family thing" ke ape. tengok la si office manager bongok tu ade buat ape ape abt it.. last yr takde pun...

i didnt go thru CP for my past few purchases. I went thru Irene from iluvbag. Her charges are better, and bec she uses corporate account for shipping, the rate are better too. But this round she tak organise. Pasal da suke the design sangat i go thru CP la.. but i told her i dun want the boxes and to minimise the stuffings. But at least so far i buy from CP tak kena GST. Once i went thru another lady (i cant remember her nick but it was something mama.) then she declare the value terang terang and i had to pay the GST...
