Btw, I can't meet up klu ade organised party. I'm due in April. And skarang tengah prepare CNY and after that pindah to Woodlands. Tengah busy nak paint rumah baru and cari reliable reno contractor. Maybe pertengahan tahun....sob sob

cuma tanya sahaja...apa yang you prepare untuk CNY? i selalu hairan pada orang kita kahwin bangsa lain. i tahulah, kadang-kadang, kita sambut aje, pergi rumah mentua ke atau makan bersama keluarga laki. Tapi, prepare apa? decor rumah ke? beli belah ke? pada i, i lebih sibuk time hari raya kemas rumah kasi bersih, pasang langsir, beli kuih-muih dan beli baju baru. tapi pat cny, pada i tak de apa-apa. cuma kemas rumah. Itu biasalah eh! Perempuan ni... macam laki i kata, asyik kemas rumah aje! i tak de sibuk-sibuk nak beli kuih-muih, tak payah lah! rumah i biasa aje..no decor.

Usually like what you said lah. Dulu sebelum married, yes we went to his parents house for reunion dinner. Asyik steam boat je....Abeh, berjudi sampai pagi. This time kena prepare lah. Normally first year married couple are excuse. Tak yah give angbao. But since now dah fourth year nie, kena prepare sikit. Family in law I semua nak datang gong xi fa cai kat rumah I. My friends pun mostly are chinese and since I married one, dorang without fail invite themselves kat rumah I.
Ade lah sikit sikit preparation. Kueh2 beli aje. My hubby pakai cipao, I ngan daughter pakai cheongsam on 1st day. Cheongsam I hand me down from my sis. Sebab dia pun married 1 ahbeng, dah 15 years pun. So kena pergi rumah dia jugak lah collection. Nasib baik muat cheongsam ni. I kena pakai sarung kaki hitam aje. Sebab perut dah besar, baju singkat sikit. Hee...hee..

Sebelum ni, i telefon NTUC domestic helper, tak de charge agency fee, dia orang kata cuma tolong directkan the amah. Lepas tu, amah akan telefon i dalam 1/2 jam. Tak telefon pun!! Tunggu punya tunggu sampai i dah tertidur semalam pukul 9:30pm. NTUC domestic help pula kata database dia orang cuma ada 1 makcik aje.. itupun makcik itu buat kat jurong saja. Jadi dia matchmake i dgn eurasian makcik tapi tak telefon.
I cari both. I nak regular kemas pasal perut i ni dah makin besar..dah tak larat nak buat kerja rumah. Mana nak masak, nak jaga anak, nak kerja... penat gila. Laki pula hari-hari OT. Weekends pun OT. I tak tahu pasal amah on wheels ni.. kalau Mdm Soh ni tak boleh datang sempat untuk CNY spring cleaning, i pakai amah on wheels. Terima kasih bilang i eh! Cuma tahun ini, kita belikan anak kita 1 baju "kungfu". Haha..pasal kat childcare dia selalu ada celebration mana budak-budak kena pakai baju tradisi. Anak i selalu pakai baju kurung sebagai baju tradisi. Jadi kita ingat, tukar-tukar lah untuk dia. At least, orang kata, baju tak wasted lah.. boleh pakai time celebration kat sekolah dia.

that time pun i did not do major reno. I only did the kitchen, 2 toilets, for living room i did l-box and feature wall, dining room very small false ceiling. Itupun my common bathroom i did not hack, i only overlaid the tiles. And bcos i wanna save, my feature wall i only used gypsum board and wall paper. All in all my reno at the most was about 15k.

yalah cny season ni lots of ppl need spring cleaning. Tapi i pelik. Most of the houses of my chinese frens langsung tak berkemas. The houses looked the same as before cny. At the most pun some of them put the unwanted stuff at 1 corner.

Hmmm... the one-off cleaning services gives me an idea... my house tu walaupun kecik, haiz...tak terkemas-kemas..lagi2 ada baby 9 mths ni...toys asik berserak ajer. Maybe i shud use one of those services.

Anyways, ada yg akan dtg with son above 3 yrs old tak? If no, then I dont have to bring him along ..poor child will definately try to attract my attention to the fullest if he's bored..

About this cleaning services kan..I think most company require an agency charge which I think not worth to payla..the amah on wheels pun sama..ever tried to call, but upon hearing the charges, I think lebih baik I spent on myself n son rather than paying for pple cleaning up my hse. Just my opinion tho..But for your case, if Im in your position,I would also engage someone to mend the messy house..who wouldnt bila tgh berbadan 2?!!

Update: I angkat tangan telefon-telefon untuk cari orang. Give up! Tak nak buang masa lagi, dengan perut besar i ni, i kemas rumah. Panjat sana-sini untuk bersihkan sarang labah. Bila tengah kemas tu, fikir juga lah, kalau jatuh, hai..tak tahu apa nak cakap. Doa juga lah sebelum kemas. Cakap pasal spring cleaning ni, memang mungkin dah adat kita orang melayu, kalau nak raya, mesti berkemas! Kalau tak berkemas, macam tak sah! I tak de decor-decor atau taruk lampu kelap-kelip. I pun tak beli kuih-muih untuk rumah i pasal i tak de orang datang rumah i. Itu pada i tak berapa penting. Tapi rumah mesti bersih. I rasa kalau kita dah melayu ni, dah memang macam gini lah.
Bila laki i balik rumah malam, i minta tolong bersihkan tingkap. Selalunya, i perlu 1 jam untuk bersihkan tingkap seluruh rumah. Laki i buat 5 min aje! Lepas tu dah tidur. Haix!!! Tak tahu apa yang dia bersihkan. Lebih baik jangan suruh dia.

I cuma fikir, macam kalau nyonya tu jatuh ke bila buat kerja rumah etc.. siapa nak bayar dia punya medical etc.. so i akan compare btwn these 2 lah sebelum buat keputusan.

Nora, hahahah....my daughter is 18 months old. Dia cuma tahu when she needs to go poop. I kena duduk depan dia lah time dia buat this business in the toilet. Dia tak biasa nak poop in her diapers. But wee wee belum graduate. I pun tak bacak kitab potty training. No need to buy lah. All this books macam tak necessary gitu, in my opinion.

Thanks for the link. Missed the news semalam, lagi bfeed baby. Takutnya I tengok, ngeri sekali. My 3 kids are also looked after by my maid, tapi alhamdullillah, so far so good. Dah 4 tahun with us. The 1st 2 years pun kita pasang CCTV satu rumah; just in caselah. After we pindah, my hubby dah malas nak pasang CCTV, and also my son dah 6 years old and always tells us what happens at home.

Kalau dah de red marks tu kan, you kena tukar tau. Tak semua diaper brands have the same cutting.
If you change to a bigger size, maybe you need to pakai kan dia diaper cover. Sebab, it's a bit loose lah but better kan, takde red marks kat peha.

Kalau dah de red marks tu kan, you kena tukar tau. Tak semua diaper brands have the same cutting.

wahh...im sooo shock to see the link above regarding the maid...wonder wat goes inside her head as she abuse the baby like that eh? macam so heartless...mulut i sampai tak ter-control "maki hamun" fomfuan tu! wat an aninal to treat an innocent one like that! ish!

my boy pon dat time pakai diapers slalu kena red marks...though longgar at the navel but its tight at the thighs cos peha dia ni macam "kentucky fried chicken"! hehehe...so in the end i upsize n also look for another brand that has a better cutting. it works, n another tip is wen u tape the sticky tape tu u slant it upwards so there's less chances of the tape cutting into the skin...hope this helps!

ur boy tu dah readyla babe to be toilet trained..dah pandai rasa pampers dia basah n buka sendiri,its a good sign. Mine, luckily i dont need to train him..we were out for a bday party one day..he saw all the bigger boys gi toilet to pee, he came back doing the same..so

So poor thing. No need to be sad lah. Anyway dia pergi pun just for 3 months. Each of you buy video cam. Tidor taruk laptop kat depan muka. I did that when I kena pergi Pittsburgh for 2 months plus. Then who knows, you can ask him to buy baju untuk your little hero. US got alot of nice kids baju ape....

Shimmers, i can understand how u feel. Time i juz got married my hubby was sent off to work at East Timor for nearly 2 years. Hari raya pun tak ada. So sad. Luckily that time we don't have any kids yet.
