ANY MALAY MUMS HERE?

We have a gathering fund per person have S$100/quater month. Then the last gathering, they want me to go to eat no prok no lard food. I said I do not want to go and they can use up my "money" and boss(woman) said don't allow. I feel the other colleague don't like to eat Halal food. but I insist Halal food and they no chose go to Swensen. You know in order to use up around S$600. they order set lunch. and all side dish x3 plus ice-cream plus ice-cream cake.
I know that some colleague is not happy. I don't understand why they insist me to join and during the makan all like not so happy.

i also got one time ask my coliq go swensen
then they all not happy bec they say the food no good...
so action seh... they say they like to eat fresh food...
then say we all alaways eat this type of food cannot appreciate fine food...
but i see at swensens, not only malays go there what.. got a lot of chinese/indian/others there also
so from then on.. i just reject all invitations

Lina, Ya I also let them be. but the way thet treat me some time I cannot stand. Worst, I''m a Chinese convert. I don't go they said I anti-social. You know, one time we go one gathering and a few of my colleague in same dept stay around admiralty so I wanted to share taxi with them. They said is my place is too far away. so rejected me. OK fine, I go and look for other dept colleague. After that we have another gathering at strait kitchen, only a few of us went. One of them stay around woodlands. Instead of share taxi with me. she can share taxi with someone stay around Ang Mo Kio. that one not far meh...Now I try to give excuse to avoid attending any gathering.

Carousel, Straits kitchen are really good options for halal yet "atas" dining places. Definitely better than Swensens kan?

Actually I also feel bad abt having my colleagues having to go halal all the time. But I guess I'm lucky, my colleagues are so sweet! I think dorang prefer to go halal than to go vegetarian. Coz previously I had a team member who was vegetarian, so all our outings were vege indian..hehe. not that I mind though, I love indian vege food.

tell them... if they want to be all anal abt it, its their call! u are not obligated to please them, as the money is, afterall, doesnt come from their pocket, let alone yours! and u are happy to just settle for macdonalds!

and please, suckling pig in the menu is not all about standard!
