! Advice on contraceptive for breastfeeding mummies

Heard that there is a type of contraceptive pill suitable for breastfeeding mummies called mini pill.

but asked my gynae before and he told me dont have..
he advised IUD instead where u put something in your womb to prevent pregnancy.
he say can leave it inside for 5 years

i'll be doing the procedure in his clinic which is abt 5 mins when I am 2 months post delivery

mini pill is a morning after pill. something you cannot take more than 4 per month.
so no gynae will suggest u use that as barrier.

either u put IUD or traditional barrier method.

HI mummies, I heard that sometimes the IUD might cause more menstrual cramps during our periods? How much is the procedure to get one?

I am also planning to use IUD after I deliver my third baby in May. Gynae recommended Merina, said all his patients were happy so far. Said as opposed to usual IUDs, Merina is known to reduce menses blood flow where some people even completely stop mensurating. I read some bad review of women with side effects and it freaked me out. But I also have a colleague who has been using it for years and very happy. Just sitting on the fence now cos I originally wanted ti ligate but gynae say if I am going for natural birth, better take the IUD route.

So IUD won't be inserted immediately after baby is delivered?

Recently, I have inserted the IUS - Mirena.
i have cramps on that day of insertion and the gynea said is normal. A few hours later, everything is back to normal and I didnt feel anything.
After my insertion, there are spotting and slight bleeding for a week.
