Hi all,

I am on family planning and wish to change my insurance to either GE Supremeshield or Prudential Prushield so I also be cover on pregnancy. But I am a little confused on which is better.

I understand that Supremeshield is combination of Totalshield & Supremehealth and if I am not wrong needs to be taken together.

I am asking because I need a plan to cover myself, during pregnancy and for the new born. I need a plan which is more comprehensive. And seems like Prudential's have more add on to take just that will be more expensive. I do not want to approach any insurance agent yet because I have not made up my mind.

Mummies & mummies-to-be, have you got any insurance already? or any other insurances you want to share are also welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Dear fairytale11,

Congratulations on being a mother-to-be!

Planning your medical benefits for yourself and your family may be a little tricky. To help you in identifying your priorities and what kind of cover you are seeking specifically, the first step is to ask yourself these questions first:

1. Are you looking to cover hospitalization expenses(no complications) for yourself, your newborn, or for both?
2. Are you looking to cover hospitalization expenses(with complications) for yourself, your newborn, or for both? (ectopic pregnancy, neo-natal care etc.)
3. Are you looking to cover future treatment/lifestyle expenses for your new born in the event congenital illnesses? (club foot, cerebral palsy etc.)

After you have identified what coverage you want, then you can move on the kind of cover that best meet your needs.

I hope this helps! :)
