Hi all,

Just want to seek advice on the choosing of milk bottle teats.

Started with a NUK teat and my boy can sucks well without any milk leaks.. but somehow or rather after sometime starts to leak and we scare the milk intake is not fully into his stomach so i change to avent but avent he dun seems to be sucking well, and so to pigeon.. but now the problem is no matter what teats we use for him tends to leaks alot.. Im so worried about his milk intake... we try the NUK teats for a start.. he sucks good but the time consume is nearly 30mins which i find it abit too long.. so we change to another NUK teats with a cross sign on the teats which means the milk flow is slighly faster but this leaks alot..

any good advice?

Hi my baby has the problem occasionally too usually when he's very hungry. Realised in my case he's so anxious to suck that he forgets to swallow thus the leak. I usually pull teat out partially n angle it slightly so that he cannot suck big glups. Once he calms down the leaking stops or just a tiny bit. Earlier we had the same problem but that was due to slight tear on teat resulting in faster flow. I think u need to go back to the slower flow teat. Some babies just take longer to drink so we just have to be patient. Hope this helps. :)

maybe you can try to change to a slower flow teat.when my bb turn 4 months old,i tried to use no 3. teat ( avent brand) and realised that the milk flow is too fast for her.
sometimes leakage. Therefore I change back to no. 2.( slow flow) till now she is 5 months old,i m still using no .2
it doesn't matter if babies take longer to drink. So long as they are growing well and putting on weight.
Also you can tried to soak the new teat with hot boiling water for a few days to let the teat become softer so that bb adapt to the changes of teat .
Hope the above helps too :)
