Dear mtb, how do u feel when your lil' one kicks you?

As far as I feel excited and glad that he's growing well inside me, is it normal to feel a little scared? I don't know how to describe the feeling but it's like "oooooo" feeling...

I always look forward to her knocks n turns. And at time would wonder what is she doing? Is she growing well? Was her kick her form to show her excitement or was she telling to tell me something? Hahaha. I think its all the emotions of growing/ learning to be a mum, I guess.

Advisable to get bb cot? Or playpen? I hear some bb dun sleep on their own cot and I m at a lost if I should go w the purchase of a cot or a play pen or simply a bb mattress on my spare adult matteress. :/

I just came back from my check up. Gynae commented that my stomach feels "hard". It's not Braxton helic as I search the web that that's early contraction. I didn't know that it's abnormal to feel tight and hard at the tummy!
Am worried now as doc mention may suffer from pre term! Said the baby is too stress inside!
Now I don't even know how a normal tummy should feel. Getting paranoid!!!!
 
Yes, put me on medication and to return for check up next week.
I thought its normal to feel the tightness and hardness since stomach is "bloated". Omg... Hope to pass the 24 weeks safe point soon!

Imlind, I used playpen for #1 but find that by 10mth will b v tiring for us as we hv to bend our back down to put bb to slp as playpen can't move the railing down.. So this round I Bgt a cot that can b converted to toddler bed. Think whether bb wan to slp on own or w parents can b trained when young. If bb fr young always slp w parents on bed, will b difficult to shift them to cot. This is my view ...

Oli-olive, bloated will be harden also... U just take med n monitor. Had cramps fr thurs-fri, gynae said is early contractions n gv mi med too.. But after gg toilet, cramps gone.. so now I suspect is constipation tat caused the cramps

Hmm sometimes it's really hard on one side and I'm wondering is it baby pressing against that side?? But then it goes away after awhile... Not sure what is it

Anyone knows what can be done if placenta is low?
Just don't carry heavy stuff right? Anything else?

For Braxton hicks its suppose to come on and off. Like contraction. But mine is hard the whole time. Thought its just the placenta pressing on the tummy.
But doc really sounds serious telling me about pre term labour etc.
 
Hl, would Braxton hicks have this symptoms? So far I heard was the contraptions type of pain? Better check w gyne if still worrying you.

Hope all mommies are fine...

Few days ago, suddenly I had stomachache. Then on the evening, had diarrhea for like 3-4 times, then vomited. The next morning, the upper part of the tummy (near the chest) did not feel comfortable at all. Finally I went to see the gynae.
She said, it must be started from constipation. Then, the body will try to get if off.. finally become diarrhea.
For the uneasiness of the upper stomach, she said I had lots of gas inside.
So for both, was given med for gas and also for the constipation.
Felt better after that.
 
lmlind, I used cot for my #1, though it lasted for about 10months only as she kept on moving around the cot and always got bumped by the side railings, made her woke up, then cried...

Then we had to get her to sleep again.. and not long after, she would move around again like 180 degree, woke up again, cried again... so we moved her to a big bed :D
 
Eci: i also had low lying placenta.gynae said to avoid carry heavy stuff n squating down.amd i research online n found that putting a pillow on ur buttock when u sleep will help.a pull of gravity of ur placenta up. I have been sleeping with a pillow on my buttock and so far,its works well for my back prob probably due to epidural or lack of calcium.

imlind, my #1 sleep in the playpen till he was 8mths..then we shift him to a baby cot. he started to make noise so we put him on our bed..end up till now he refuse to sleep on his own

oli-olive, only night time i feel my tummy harden..next morning its gone esp when baby starts to kick non stop lol

han bl, my baby girl also likes to shift to one side..dunno is her head or bum sometimes..but i try to talk to her and stroke tt area then she will move away haha..u can try to do that too

eci, im having low placenta too..can feel baby movement quite low. but i confirm gg for csec so gynae said not to worry for low placenta. i hv not been squatting down during the start of this pregnancy but i do walk a lot esp during my BKK trip in june

called KKH ask a nurse, everyone just say 'if worried go get it checked out in delivery suite'...arg...
it got quite bad yesterday, the Braxton Hicks caused my tummy to be so sore! and i'm worried it stresses the bb, but this morning, it's much better, and bb kicking away... *dilemma*
maybe i was too active during the weekend :p
 
Hi Hab bl,
I got Braxton Hicks as well, but not very often and not as serious as yours. Maybe felt it 2 or 3 times a day and it usually goes away very quickly. Better get hold of your gynae to check it out.
 
hi olive, i duno, BH seems fairly common and it's supposed to start early on but only felt at later stages as your belly expands.
went to KKH Delivery suite to get myself checked out, thank goodness given the all clear :D:D although my tummy is still sore from i duno what! given 2 days MC to rest.

imlind, poor hb hv to slp on single bed so me &amp; #1 got more space..somemore now i preg he also scare will accidentally kick me if all slp tog. anyway i always kanna left, right, center from my boy also he slp got many patterns one lol
 
Porky. I think I may have the same situation if bb like to sleep on our bed later. Hahah. Maybe I should just get a bb mattress and place it on my spare bed rather than getting a cot or play pen now.
 
imlind, haha..better train from newborn else they sure wont let u off easily..thats the lesson i learnt. till now my boy still koala bear every morning must see me when he wake up. u can get those baby sleep positioner and place it on your spare bed

imlind, the doc just said it's probably that i did too much activity, so muscles a bit strained. i'm not too convinced though so will ask my gynae when i visit her in 2 weeks. for now, i'm just taking it easy and practicing being relaxed! lots of deep breathing!

Thanks imlind, housewife and porky for your advices. Shall bear in mind no heavy stuff, no squatting, less walking.

I read that the placenta might move up naturally eventually..I hope i belong to this category as I am aimIng for natural birth.
 
Hi mummies, sorry to interrupt.

I am an April mummy. I have an almost brand new (opened to test only) Avent steam steriliser. Because I direct latch my boy, I do not need the steriliser. I bought it at $128 and I am letting it go at $80.

In addition, I have a brand new Avent steamer blender bought earlier this year. And I received another as gift. I bought it for $199 and am letting it go at $150.

barneybaby, i hv signed w cordlife for my 2nd child. my #1 also w cordlife. they will draw mummy's blood first. then draw the cord blood when baby is out. u can ask the consultant if you worried abt the procedure
