Need recommendation for IVF doctor after trauma with KKH

I need your recommendation as I want to switch from KK to another hospital (can be private or public)

I’m 31, experienced 2 chemical pregnancies from IUI so I got referred to do PGT-A with KKH.
I had 5 PGT normal day-5 blastocysts. Then I went through a surgery to remove my uterine fibroid and waited for 6+ months to do my transfers. For all the scans, my lining was great (9-11mm with triple patterns). Yet, all my blastocysts didnt do well after thawing (either they didnt survive or they had low survival rate and didn’t expand during transfer). My third transfer was cancelled. Now, we have run out of blastocysts.

Given that all my blastocysts didnt do well, I suspected there could have been something wrong with the freezing process. But I dont think KK Lab will admit anything. Now I don’t think I can trust KK IVF lab. Thus, I’m looking for another doctor and lab for my second cycle. Please help recommend!

I am so sorry you are going through this, it is incredibly draining to put in all that work and wait months for surgery, only to have the lab results let you down. During my situation where my embryos just didn't seem to thrive after thawing, despite my lining being perfect and everything looking "textbook" on paper. It is heartbreaking when you feel like you can't trust the process anymore, so I eventually decided to move my care elsewhere for a fresh start with a different lab and a more personalised approach. Since making the switch, I've felt much more at ease with the technical side of things, as the right embryology team makes such a massive difference. If you are looking for a new perspective, I’ve had a really positive experience with my gynae, Dr Regina of GynaeMD Clementi.

We had the same bad experience with Kkh but we succeeded overseas later. From the treatment plan, it seems alpha ivf seems closest to ours? They advocate thorough check. Good luck to you

Sorry that you have to go through that. i did IUI with KKH too in 2024, not successful and i don’t like the connection i have with the staff (doc/nurses). we decided to go for IVF at NUH with Dr Huang Zhong Wei last year and i’m now currently 35week pregnant. I did not do any PGT testing as i’m already 37 yo and only to have 3 embryos that made it to day 3. my current pregnancy is the first embryo out of the 3. Dr Huang can be very straightforward (not the sweet talk kind) but respectful towards our decision. so if you can handle straightforward, i highly recommend him.

I completely understand why you’re feeling frustrated. I went through something similar where my scans looked perfect, but the results just weren't happening, and I started to lose heart with the hospital’s process. Making the move to a private setting was a huge relief for my peace of mind; it felt much less like an assembly line and I felt I had much better oversight of what was happening in the lab.

The transition made the whole journey feel more personal and far less daunting. If you’re looking for a change, I’ve been seeing Dr Chen at Healthcare for Women. The care there is wonderful, and it might be worth a visit just to see if their approach and lab feel like a better fit for your next cycle.

I am currently with Dr Jessie Phoon who is an ob gyn and fertility doctor . I am doing my ivf at gen prime at Camden. Makes alot of difference . U can speak with the head nurse and they show u the lab , speak with the embryologist as well . Every step of the way its so catered . It’s a big journey for us ladies and I believe utmost care is needed :)

It is pricey but looking at all the attention to detail its so worth it

Hello, I’m really sorry you had to go through all of that. I can understand why you would feel discouraged, especially after everything you went through with the transfers and surgery.

If you are considering another doctor, you might want to look into Dr Kelly Loi in Singapore. My sister went through fertility treatment with her, and she appreciated how patient and thorough she was during the process. Even during the hardest parts of the journey, Dr Loi was really supportive and made her feel heard and cared for throughout the journey.

I know changing clinics after a difficult experience can feel overwhelming, but sometimes having a fresh perspective and a different team can help you feel more comfortable moving forward with another cycle. Hoping things go more smoothly for you from here onwards.
