I highly recommend my confinement nanny, Liew Siew Fong (Evon) and highly recommend her!

As a second time mum, I tried to engage my previous nanny but she was not available. This turned out to be a blessing because Evon surpassed my already decent first nanny.

Happy to give more details if any mummy is interested but listing some reasons why I really enjoyed my confinement with Evon! We liked her so much we extended her by a month!

Evon genuinely loved our baby. It was very obvious that Evon has a genuine heart for babies. As a type-A mum, I closely monitored her every interaction with baby in the first week of confinement and noticed that she would chat with baby in the nursery even when we were not in the room. We caught her telling baby to grow up healthy and happy, and to be a blessing to those around her. She would often tell baby she’s well loved too! When our baby had some skin sensitivities, Evon was more concerned than us. She also apologised to us (and baby!) even after the paediatrician said it’s a common occurrence in newborns and not due to any carelessness in care etc. We also loved that she constantly communicated with baby- she would tell the baby what she was about to do (eg let’s go shower, auntie is going to change your diapers) and told us that gives baby a sense of security. Our little one never once fussed or cried when Evon showered her (but would cry murder the first few times we did )

No Overfeeding: we’ve heard many horror stories of Nannies force feeding or over feeding babies so they could get longer periods of rest. Evon was the opposite- she was careful to monitor baby’s intake of milk and would stop when baby showed the first sign of refusal.

Helped to put in place a system- Evon was also extremely systematic in the way she cared for baby. She would encourage us to feed baby only every 2-3 hourly if possible from week 3 onwards. This turned out to be the paediatrician’s exact advice! Evon explained that this would introduce a schedule to baby and makes it easier for us to care for baby after she leaves as we can track baby’s feed and plan our lives with some certainty. In between if baby fusses, instead of taking the easy way out of asking me to latch baby (which the nanny for our firstborn used to do) or bottle feed baby, she would find all ways to calm or coax baby. By singing, swaying, showing baby different things around the house or speaking gently to baby. These were all effortful for her but she never once complained. Thanks to Evon, our second born settled into a schedule much earlier than her sister ever did. She ate well every 2-3 hourly (was v easy to feed), had no reflux or spit up and would sleep well in between even at night. This made it very easy for us to take over care of baby after Evon left. Evon also carefully recorded all of these down on her sheets and passed them to us for record purposes when she left. This system that Evon put in place was not easy to achieve but a huge help to us.

Pro choice: as a second time mum, i had some preferences on how i wanted things done. Evon was extremely respectful of my preferences and i had no issues with them. She would provide some opinion based on her many years of experience but did not resist if we decide otherwise. She was also extremely supportive of my breastfeeding choices. She cheered me on when I was building my supply but also showed no judgement when I sometimes decline to latch or pump in order to rest. Evon had very high eq which made her very easy and enjoyable to get along with.

Got along well with helper: as we had a helper at home we were concerned there might be friction between them as we’ve heard some horror stories. Thankfully Evon got along very well with our helper. She told us multiple times she has to respect our helper as they are both here to work. She would insist on helping to wash dishes, leave generous portions for my helper and discussed meal options and grocery needs with my helper without needing me to intervene. This was a huge relief for me.

Gentle and warm personality: Evon’s personality can be summed up as a gentle assuring presence. She encourages gently, takes pride in her work and is very respectful all around. She got along well with all our guests who visited. She was also very disciplined with her own rest. Our previous nanny was always on her phone. This was never an issue with Evon. She would sleep when the baby sleeps and we never once caught her falling asleep or using her phone while feeding, coaxing or holding baby.

Lastly, although knowledgeable about confinement rules, she respected my wishes not to follow some. I showered daily and wore sleeveless tops. Also drank cold water. She would remind me tenderly but was not naggy.
She also attends training regularly to update herself on the latest practices. She clearly takes pride in her work.

Evon did not cook for us much as my helper handled the cooking. However the few dishes she did prepare were all tasty, not too salty but flavoured in a balanced and healthy manner.

I recommend Evon fully and would be happy to provide her contact if any mummy is interested to engage her. I understand that she’s trying freelance out having been previously in an agency and has some availability after March 2026.

Can I get her contact please
