Sooo many..

a. uncooked food
b. mayo (cz apparently it has raw eggs)
c. unpasteurized milk
d. fish with high mercury
e. pre-prepared food. i.e.; eat your yong tau foo with caution.

Anyone still on Duphaston and needs them? I have leftover and dont mind passing them to you. Collection to be at Punggol/Along NE lines after work hours. Other locations to be discussed at my convenience. First come first serve, please PM me. thanks!

Hi mommies!

I'm a first-time mom and just found out I was expecting a few days ago when I experienced very bad nausea and lots of gas (burping)... am 7 weeks right now and still working.

Right now I still experience nausea and tiredness but it got a bit better. At least I can sit up in bed to watch TV.

To deal with my burping and "gas" problem, doctor suggested I take small meals throughout the day. I pack nuts to work and even though I have no craving for the nuts, I feel better after popping a few in my mouth. Other cravings include yakun toast and prunes? Usually find that I need something salty in my mouth as I can't take big gulps of water too.. I added lemon slices to water and find that it helps!

Hang in there mommies for our first trimester!! Hope it gets better after July

I'm also having morning sickness, but yet always hungry. Frequent meals help, and I need to drink milk before I sleep or I will feel super hungry when I wake up in the morning. Also feel very thirsty, and so tired that I must take a nap everyday. Window shopping for only 1 hour and I'm ready to go home and sleep. This is my 2nd pregnancy and it's so different from my first.

I booked mine at 2.8k but thats because she did my confinement for me previously, and she quoted me the same rate. pretty lucky! hehe.

May i know beside 2.8k do your confinement lady ask for hongbao ? Transportation fees ? How much is the deposit u need to pay upfront?

Normally ang bao wise, you need to give even though she doesnt ask for it. So i'll be giving a start work ang bao & another one on her last day with us.. Doesnt include her transportation fees.

I didnt pay any deposit as she trust me. Shes good, we still keep in contact even after i finished my confinement; always send us regards and etc..

Hope this helps! :)

Not sure yet, but she wants me to go see chinese doc to get those herbs. But my gynae also gave a lot of medicine to eat too. Not sure if chinese med helps in pregnancy?

Hi mummies! I'm not sure if anyone is like me but I have afternoon/evening sickness instead of morning sickness. And the smells that will make me puke is detergents and body liquid soap with very nice smell. Not fishy smell. Now I don't dare to wash clothes or get near to newly washed laundry.

I managed to find Cetaphil a body liquid soap that has no smell but I cannot find a detergent that does not make me puke...

Anyone same as me? If you know any detergent that has no smell, please let me know.

Thanks so much

Hi everyone, I'm a 1st time mummy-to-be and my EDD is on 27 Jan (currently at 7 weeks). I went to the polyclinic on 02 June to get a referral letter to see the gynae at KKH and the earliest was 13 June. The earliest date for SGH at that time was 05 July so I chose KKH. At the same time, I booked Dr Suzana Sulaiman as a private patient but she is only available in October onwards so for now, I will just see random gynae as a subsidized patient.

I went for my 1st appt yesterday. Gonna share with 1st time mummies who haven't see a gynae yet or planning to see one at KKH. Had a scan done before seeing the doctor. Saw my sayang and also his/her heartbeat. After the scan, I went to another room to get my BP/height/weight/urine checked. Saw the gynae and she asked a couple of questions and explained the scan to me. After which I was referred to see a staff regarding the down syndrome test (part of their procedure which you can choose to decline). My husband couldn't make it so I didn't make any decision yet. After that, I had blood tests (antenatal profile with thalassaemia) done, collected some medications (folic acid + obimin for 13 weeks and above). Paid $170 in total for that visit as a subsidized patient.

Will be going down in 2 weeks' time for a dating scan since the scan I did was 'not accurate at this gestation'. Currently, not having any morning sickness but slight giddiness in the afternoon, frequent hunger, bloatedness and discomfort around my pelvis area which is most likely due to the uterus stretching.

Hope everyone will have a smooth pregnancy journey! :)

Thanks for sharing babe. I had my first check up earlier this week with Dr Paul Tseng of TMC. I thought I was 7+ wks along but the ultrasound scan showed I was only 6+ wks. It was a surprisingly fast and fuss free experience - Dr went out for a delivery 15 mins prior to our appointment timing and he was back within half an hour. We waited a bit for a while cos there were 4 other mommies who were waiting to see him. Nurse took my height, weight, bp and told me to keep my bladder full for the ultrasound scan.

In his office, Dr greeted us and asked standard questions about drug allergy, medical conditions, any surgery history, LMC etc, before directing me to do the ultrasound scan. What showed up in a scan was pretty curious - hub thought it looked like a butterfly, doc described it as an owl, in my mind I was wondering "??? Don't know where to look, what to see". First thing Dr asked me was "Do you have twins in the family?" and told me that I was having a pair of fraternal twins with 2 separate amniotic sacs. Hub and I were so surprised but we couldn't stop grinning.

After the scan, Dr asked us if we have questions for him. He said supplements were not necessary at this point of time and prescribed me with only folic acid. We were so pleasantly surprised that we forgot to ask him questions about twin pregnancies and whether progesterone supplements were required. After we took some time to digest the news, it later dawned on us that KKH might provide better support for multiple pregnancies. Now we are in a bit of a dilemma to stick to Dr Paul Tseng (because he is so nice!) or to jump ship to another Dr from KKH. My friends recommend Dr June Tan from KKH but when I called the hospital, the officer on the line said Dr Tan will be on leave till July and even then, she will have to take a look at her schedule to see if she wants to accommodate me :( She recommended me to see specialists from the maternal-fetal unit for my case - Dr Daniel Koh / Dr Edwin Thia / Dr Tan Kai Lit. I am still trying to read reviews about them.

Thanks for reading my lengthy post :). Will appreciate your advice ;) And a smooth sailing pregnancy to all!

Hi Mommies!

I have just confirmed my #2's EDD to be end of Jan 2018.
My #1 will be attending P1 next year. OMG, it will be a crazy month for me then.

To the mummies who are not experiencing MS, don't worry. My #1 was very good to me then, i hardly had any nausea.
So all these MS for #2 is new to me, all food just taste bleh to me. Cant wait for Trim2 so that i can enjoy food more. And not like now, eating for the sake of eating.

Gynae has recommended me to take small meals, and snack every 2 hour to prevent nausea. It seems to help.
Was told to try Ginger tea or Fox candy as well.

@Fenfenmama same! i cant stand the smell of fresh laundry. I dont vomit but it just makes me feel bad. Just nice that i had to change a fabric softener and i got another brand/scent instead. And I feel slightly better now.

Wishing everyone a smooth pregnancy :)

Hi everyone, my EDD is the first week of Jan.

I'm already a mum of 4, so this pregnancy was totally unplanned and bigger surprise when the first scan showed that I was expecting twins

Had no MS for my first 4, just some gassiness with the girls, but double the hormones has made this round quite a bit tougher. Very tired, gassy, bloated, nauseated, constantly hungry... thankful for the good days when I can still function quite normally.

I'm with Dr Heng Tung Lan from Parkway East.

Hello Jan 18 mummies, I'm week 8 now but haven been doing much "homework". I see that this forum provides very gd support for mummies like us. I have just requested to be added on the FB group. Hope to get accepted soon! :)

Are there any mommies here who are currently seeing a private gynae but when it comes to delivery plan to give birth at KKH without your private gynae?

I'm considering the costs involved and wonder if it would really help save more if I give birth at KKH with any random gynae or go to Mt A where my private gynae does delivery.

Any info or advice is greatly appreciated.
