DR SF LOH OF KKH

Hi Serene,
How old are u? I hv gone thru 2 cycles n supposed to do my 3rd one in October. After a year long away fr work I decided to head back to work to think thru my life n see if I really think its worth going thru 3rd round. U hv been thru 5 times n I remember dr Loh mentioned to me before coz I asked about my success rate shld I go thru again. He couldnt promise me anything but to try again like some others. Wat gave u the courage? Wat makes u think u can win at the end. How old r u if u don't mind sharing?

Hi Trustbaby,

I am now 34 with 2 kids, both from IVF. I was 27 when I did my first cycle with him in 2008. Was also very disappointed when it failed the 1st time. I took no
pay leave during the 1st cycle in order in order to rest well. but since it wasn't successful, I went bk to work and continues for 2 cycles. After that, I resign from my job as teaching was quite stressful and was hoping that I can conceive naturally with the medication from Dr Loh. Sadly, again couldn't work so went for the 4th cycle. I almost gave up after the 4th cycle coz I suffered OHSS and was in hospital for a week.

I told my hubby that I wanted to give up as I thought that it was dated for me to be childless. It was my hubby who encouraged me to go thru the final round and he told me that if it was to
fail again, we will just give up. Luckily for us, it ws finally success and I went bk to teaching.

At that time, I really do not know where I got the courage from to continue but I know that having kids is really what I want. That strong belief gave me the strength to carry on.

Hope my story is an inspiration to you.

Thanks Serene! Is not easy to keep on trying n it takes courage after 3rd round n faith too I believe. Based on what u told me age plays a part too. If I have more time I hv no doubt I will consider many attempts. Now that I m 40 it is where difficult decision lies. Thanks for sharing

Anyone is under SF loh?? Saw the comments that he is switching to TMC in 2012.. can i still write email to him?? any one can share his email??

If I didn't remember wrongly, mine was the IVF/ ISCI where they place the fertilized embryos into my uterus. Actually I was quite lucky as I has quite a large number of eggs retrieved from the fresh cycle. I went through 2 fresh cycles and 3 thawed ones and each fresh cycle costs me about 7k in which partial was from my CPF. If thawed cycle, it is actually cheaper as I did not have to pay for the egg retrieval surgery and the medication for the hormone jabs.

Hope it helps..

Hi

He actually gave me asprin to enhance the implantation of the embryos. It actually worked for both of my successful cycles.

Hi babeluv

I underwent emergency c-sec with dr Loh for my 1st kid. All went ok, stitching was good n recovered well. Not much of a scar and hides well beneath the undies ;)

Hi ladies, I am with Dr SF Loh for my first pregnancy and now pregnant with my 2nd. I just saw him 2 weeks ago at KKH and was given an appt card for his new clinic. May I ask if the clinic has started operating already as I want to change appt.

i just went for checkup with Dr Loh on monday. His clinic start already. if you want to change your appt, just email him. The waiting time now is shorter as compared to kkh.

Hi Ladies,

Dr Loh's new clinic is in Thomson Medical Centre #05-06
Contact is 6526 1003.

Am also seeing him in new clinic. ^_^

Hi serene,

His fees are competitive to his rates in KKH

I am currently pregnant with my 2nd child thru ivf with dr loh. My first child is ivf under him too. But since he moved to MTV, I hate it. The nurses do not call back for scan results and it's impossible to call his clinic. Anyone wheels the same?

hi ladies, is dr loh contact number correct? 6526 1003. I called a few times today but no one pick up. Phone call is diverted to mobile phone which mailbox is full.
I will like to make an appointment.

Hi mummies,
Can someone please PM me Dr SF Loh's email address?
I was seeing him for my #1 in 2010 while he was at KKH. He used to fly bkk for conference, so thought maybe he can help recommend a good gynae to me. I really trust him a lot and hope he can be gynae for my #2, but unfortunately, I'm now staying in

Many thanks.

Hi mummies,

I was with dr loh at kk last year till he shifted to tmc. He suspected that I have mild endo, suggested that I do laparoscopy. M worried as I m working and cannot afford the time to take leave. In fact m thinking of giving up cos all the visits and tests gives poor results. Dh has low sperm count n is not conscientious in taking the herbal supplements prescribed.

M worried about the laparoscopy. Anyone did it before and able to advise? Thank you

summerbb, SF loh's clinic is quite chaotic when its pack. I am his patient and pregnant now. Tried calling many days and did not get through. I did walk in once cos I was suffering from UTI and needed to see gynae. The nurse accepted. You may need to wait though but at least you get an appt.

In the end, i did not see SF Loh for UTI cos there was such a long queue. I went to see Dr Marianne instead and I find she is a very good gynae. Patient, listen to all my question. If you do not have a complicated pregnancy, I recommend Dr Marianne.

Hi lemon, personally I think the Q is not as long as compare to KKH time. But I believe there is a few exceptional cases. Like during my last visit, it was indeed a long waiting process for me. When it was my turn, he apologized for the delay due to the fact that he spend at least 1 hr on a serious case - ovarian cancer patient who seek his help to deposit her eggs.

But like what ivftwins said, for those walk in or non-schedule appointment, can look for Dr Marianne. I once had a spotting issue, so Sandra proposed me to see Dr Marianne as Dr Loh was at IVF centre on that particular day

Hi im new to this thread. I have also did IVF with Dr Loh.

For fertility issues, you might want to look for him at Thomson Fertility Centre (TFC) located at Novena Specialist Centre lvl 7 unit 02. Personally, I think the queue at TFC is quite reasonable. I rem my first visit i got to see him within half an hr. I also agree with some of the gals that Dr Loh is a man of few words but he seriously know what he is doing.

If you are looking to do IVF or IUI i think you will have to call the centre on the first day of your menses and they will advise you when to go down.

To LuvChar

The cost of my IVF at TFC is around 12K and i am claiming 6K from medisave becos it is my first ivf try. Before i start the procedure i was told to be prepared to pay around 12k to 16k. The amount to be paid is as and when you visit thus each time the amount may defers depending on what is done and the type of medication given. I would say the medication or injections are really exp but maybe becos i was given a high dosage. I was on Gonal/F (to stimulate the follicles) during my IVF process and each injection cost about 300++ and i had about 11 injections. During which after the 5th injections, i had to take another injection of cetrotide (to prevent early ovulation) so its two types of injections from the 6th to 11th day and all these injections really add up to the cost.

Hi,
