I have been teaching my baby to say “mommy” and she started saying “mamama” at 6 months old while giving me eye contact. However my mother in law keeps correcting her to say “mum mum” (to eat) and insisted that my baby was not calling me but she wants to eat instead. I don’t use baby language but my mother in law uses it excessively. Now at 7 months, my baby stopped saying “mama” and “mum mum” altogether. She just screams when she wants my attention. Is this just a normal development phase or she confused?
Does baby get confused between “mama” and “mum mum”(to eat)?
