Chinese Name?

Hi!

I'm a Singaporean Chinese living abroad. My baby will be born abroad and I intend to apply for Singapore citizenship for my baby.

Does anyone know if it is possible to include Chinese character name in the application even if it is not present in foreign birth certificate?

And anyone with White-Chinese mixed babies? Do your babies have Chinese character name? If yes, do your babies follow your surname/no surname/husband's surname translated?

Thanks!

华文名字,可以让孩子饮水思源。孩子长大永远会记得妈妈的姓氏。老师以前在美国,给half ang-moh, half Chinese baby命名过。

There is no specific way of naming Ang-moh-Chinese. There are many ways.

E.g.
1. Tan Rodriguez
2. Shi Shuyue Mabel Z. Gonzalez
3. Kate Sanchez Fong Mun Yee
4. Kieth Shangguan Murphy
5. Randoff M. ErPeng Junior Russell Seeto
