(2011/08) Aug 2011

Thanks sus. I'll check that out. I feel that I'm so not prepared. Even if I were to go to the baby fair, I don't have any knowledge of what to buy. Where can I get more info??

Dandelion: we complied a list in the FB secret page...

Steriliser - Pigeon / Avent / Mothercare (if you buy during Taka Fair, they should come with bottles as a bundle)

Baby Bottles - Brands will be to each it own. too many brands to choose from.

Diapers - New Born or Small Size

Cord spirit - to clean the cord

Baby Towel - soft and good size for baby

Receiving blanket - for those hosp. nt providing

Squ...are Cotton Pads - to wash bb tonge or etc

Face towel - small face towel for cleaning etc

Baby powder - use talc free one

Baby Lotion

Diaper Cream - Daprolene *pink box is a good one to buy.

Baby Tub - buy something that you can managed best with a slanting board to place baby if you are not confident to handle 1st 2 weeks.

Breast Pads - a box to try which brand is good for u. I personally felt Gerber is good.

Breast milk storage - milk bags are good buy as u can lay it flatten while freezing.

Baby Bath - depends on you as well. if u can afford u can buy more ex. :p i usually get J&J

Nursing Cover - Buy something thinner, as NB has not learn hw to latch properly. this is to cover you while u are breastfeeding baby. Bought from Mums & Babes. Sewing is possible.

Baby Sling - get something which you will be comfortable with. Very impt that if you cant get the sling right, you might not be able to sling the NB well. Always get something that you can manage alone

Baby stroller/pram - get something easy for 1 hand operation. there will be days when you are alone and need to handle from bag to carry the pram yourself. Dont explore something that is too heavy and only hubby ard then can use, and u might landed with more than 1 pram later. Doesnt mean bigger is better.. more impt is lightweight and 1 mummy alone can manage.

Infant Car Seat - Get something that can fit into the pram, so you can just open the pram and put the car seat inside to push ard.

Baby Cot quilt/bumper set - Aussio has a good buy with pllow, bolster, bumpers, quilt and sheet. (if budget, try Ikea too, i bought mine from there :p)

Mittens + booties

baby front buttons clothes

Long pants for night sleeping wear

gripe water

Ru Yi Oil

Hello Aug 2011 MTBs,

I had my DC 2 Wks ago and now was recuperating well at home. I wanted to share the last incident in light to my pregnancy that 'touched' I can remember by....

I had engaged my CL thru this agency i-kare and had paid a deposit of $500. It was unfortunate that it was a DC case n I was refunded 100% of my refund n May, the agent send a delicious pot of vinegar pig's trotters at my doorstep the very next day.... She has given an impression of sincerity and responsibility. Hence, personally at my opinion with an 'responsible' agent, her nannies can't be 'bad' at all...

Just to share this pc of info to mummies who need an extra help in getting responsible n experience confinement lady... I could recommend you this agency called i-kare

(www.i-kare.com.sg) and agent is May HP:92996331. The other reason being that their terms n condition were very reasonable and she replaces replacement nanny within 24 hrs instead of within two days (in other agencies)!

I'm no longer active in this group but is still currently with the 'secret' group trying to gain some 'baby dust' though [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif] but I have a sincere n helpful members in the group who selfishly 'share' and 'support' during my DC period n it really makes a different! Mummies....(you know who you are! [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]) Thank you so much n I'm really grateful n appreciate all your blessings showers upon me. Have a Smooth pregnancy and happiness forever to you!

Hi Cheuk Ling,

Very sorry to hear that. I do understand how you are going through now as I also went thru it last year march as well. Most important thing now is to rest and eat well and be positive to prepare for next pregnancy.Next one will definitely be a healthy pregnancy. Baby dust to you !

The agent you mentioned is really responsible and caring and Im really touched by her sincerity [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

Hi Pauline, somehow I still feel maybe there's a chance that the Dr misdiagnose! :S But hope you get a girl as you wished. I was thinking of getting Nuks btls too. My 1st boy is using medela and wanted to get something diff for the 2nd one. Is JL still having sale?

Hi adv_sports, yes yes, my boy will be the lucky one to hv a lt bro to play with. Just hope #2 is not as active as #1 or I'm gg to faint :p

hi mtbs,

I need help with uploading pics to our ss fb page. This is what I did and I keep getting this msg and it refuses to let me upload pics to fb using i-phone 4. Can someone help me?

Steps:

>Go to i-phone, FB pg.

>Go to SMH Aug Group

>Go to share photo

>Go to choose from Library

>Choose the pic to be uploaded, and fill in caption, and click upload.

=== Nothing happens

>When I click on photo again, it says 'your photo could not be uploaded at this time. You can save this photo and try to upload it again later'

I keep getting this error from last week till this week. Do you guys know how to resolve this problem?

Carole/Mei

Iphone 4 is really lousy! I give up...

MTBS,

Anyone going for antenatal class in KKH? There are 9 sessions altogether. The lastest one will start next Sat, 19th and end around Jun. I should be signing up for next Sat's intake.

Hi mummies,

How do you let your boss know that you are expecting?

thinking of sending an email to my boss to state that I am expecting and likely to take maternity leave in Aug. I need to let him know so that subsequently he can make arrangement for covering. Also to let my other bosses know that I can't stay overnite to work for them if really v busy... Dunno how to put it....

hi pinkangel,

When I was 5 weeks, I already told my lady boss (single, no bf) that I am pregnant. I told her I would like to keep it hush hush till 3 mths. She respect my decision. (during 1-2-1)

Unfortunately, I had spotting and went on medical leave afterwards and I just sms-ed her that I won't be going back to office for 1st trimester.

Then after 1st trimester, I actually have no guts to go back cos my job is pretty stressful cos we have timeline and ppl whom I am assisting are very demanding. So my doc gave me a letter to say that I can only do v v light duties. (but doc told me to do something to keep my mind occupied and I told him I will suggest working PT) So now, I am working half days, 3x/week.

Towards the end of first trimester, my boss already got headcount to hire another staff and hire a temp.(which we know is v difficult for most industries these days - cos company wants us to be as lean as possible) So I guess if you let your boss know early, he can make necessary arrangements.

Dear Boss XXX,

I have a good and bad news for you. Good - I am expecting a baby in August. And Bad is that I might not be able to be part of the team during the busy times.

Before my absence in August, I would be more than ready to impart knowledge and skills to the colleague who will be covering for me.

Once again, thank you for being an understanding boss and would continue to my service with you as long as possible.

Regards,

XXXXX

Depends whether pinkangel boss is the formal or informal type. If formal type...this email is quite funny and serve the purpose. Hohoho...

If boss is informal, just ask boss into a room and tell boss. I think tell them earlier also good so that they can understand and won't throw additional work to you, also won't expect you to OT.

But I must say no matter how understanding is a boss, if he is a guy or a single lady boss, he/she will not be able to fully understand what we are going thru. What's impt is we put ourself first, and put your feet down if you need to rest/work part time/ take no pay leave.

pipi: my iphone 4 also got the same prob.. can't upload to secret group.. i have uploaded to my wall before.. so i think it only have problem uploading to group leh... [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/sad.gif]
