Morning Mummies...

think when bb grows older.. they will sleep lesser/shorter during daytime liao.. which is good .. cos they will sleep longe in the night..
 


shokel, no menses doesnt mean u r not ovulating.
coz u'll never know when u'll start ovulating. ;p
to enourage mummies to breastfeed, some books used tt as a form of 'enticement'. haha...
but personally, i feel tt's really too risky, unless u r prepared to hve another one so soon.
 
last nite, my gal told me her classmate, who oredi has a younger brother, is gonna hve another 3 siblings, coz the mummy is expecting triplets.
i was like 'wow'.
i oredi cant imagine managing a baby &amp; 2 older ones w/o help, the lady is gonna handle 3 babies, plus 2 older ones... gosh...

really cant imagine being a sahm for the rest of my maternity leave.

furthermore, hubby is not @ home frm 6+am - 9pm everyday, except wkends.

Yup same here anisley he will cry n want ppl to carry when he's tired once put him down cry even louder. Think I gotta go for the cry out loud method liao if he dun sleep then I cry all the way like tat how can …
 
Genesis, ur bb stp crying when u carry? My bb will cry for another 5-10 mins then will fall aslp. Then slp awhile open eyes to chk. If still carry n pat her, she falls bk aslp. Lol. If in bed n pat her oso can slp sometimes. If nothing...... Ong ehhhhhh, ong ehHhhh..... Then bcos of her short n frequent slp cycle, she always cry lor.
My bb's hands seldom cold when nv wear mittens.

Ivy, hw's ur bb last nite? Managed to hv some slp?

its common for bbies hand &amp; feet to be colder tha rest pf their body...to know whether the temp is right for them...feel the back of the neck..it's a better gauge..

so at times you leave bb to cry for a while and settle themselves bk to sleep??...

i also dunno i spoiling bb or not...last night he slept from 11pm to 3am...then woke up at 5am, 6.30 am, 8.30am..i nvr wait..juz latch...and soothe him...

mommies, all of u tried giving frozen ebm to your bbs yet?

i tried twice, failed terribly. my boy doesnt even wanna take 2 mouth of it..

my sister's bb very gd... he's ok with drinking my sister's frozen ebm...

now my fridge got so many pkts of frozen ebm, i'm wondering wat to do.. throw away damn sayang... n oso, i dun dare to store any more frozen ebm.. so now my fridge got more n more bottles of ebm.. and my boy is not clearing them.. everytime just let him waste my milk (e.g. give him 100ml, he only managed to finish 60ml, then i just throw the 40ml away).. sighz..
 
fatbabes, hmmm.. when she is really tired/sleepy at night, she will. Pat her a while before she gets really awake, she also will fall back to sleep. But ah, before she sleep, must carry de lor. She will cry everytime before she sleep de. sigh~~

My bb also sleep ard 11, woke up at 2.50am.. again.. lol.. then 5.45.. then 7.50... and just had her milk at 10am
 
augleo, ur hubby has any sister?
coz according some old wives' tales, if ur hubby has sister(s), bb wil dropped a lot of hair ard 4mth &amp; form a 'railway-line' behind his/her head.
then, normally, mummy will start to suffer frm hair loss when bb starts losing dropping hair.so, if ur hubby has no sister, then mayb ur hair-loss prob wont b so bad.

anyway, to prevent bad hair-loss a few mths down the road, mayb u can start applying hair tonic now, to strengthen ur hair &amp; scalp.

i haven tried giving frozen BM...but oredi threw away 3 bottles of 100ml because i realise my freezer not freezing properly...ice-cream melt through le..

ahh...your girl is fussing before she sleeps la...then you put her down muz be special light handed?? if nt will startle &amp; wake up again loo...

when she wakes you also juz latch &amp; pat her bk to sleep?? nvr attempt to give her more milk so dat she can sleep longer??

wow! u all hv such a good yield. envy envy.
mine jus sufficient for a day, during good times oni hv 2 bottles in the fridge to standby if i'm out of the house.

wah, me so shag also.. woke up ard 2plus then 6plus then 9plus.. . done with bathin of bb, now let him lie in his cot before his next feed... me doin confinement but also nvr really follow all rules, cos i stil bath bb myself, wash clothes and all.. i think i startin to feel a bit headache liao.. i also wash hair once with the herbs... but nt shiok at all! need a gd scrub! feel like gg to salon and wash lor! haha
 
genesis, ainsley, same! my boy also sleep very little in the day! but he can sleep very well in the fisher price rocker.. he eh a little i use my leg to rock him then he goes back to sleep

But different days differnt pattern, some days sleep more.. but at night, he will still wake up quite often.. and my boy is an early bird!! he wakes up at 7 am, i still want to sleep!

Fat_babe, me also like that leh, at night when he eh, i will just latch..

ladies, i have a pack of huggies NB, a pack of fitti NB, a pack of fitti basic NB. all use a few pieces, given by others but my boy cannot fit le, anybody's babies still using? want to give away.. come my place take, i stay in bedok north?

sharon, envious!! she's drinking so well, little ariel only drinks 60 - 90 ml every 2-3 hrs haiz i brought dis up to a few pd but they say nvm as long as she's putting on weight well... she's 4.7kg now at 6wks... was 2.8 at birth


cayenne.. so far she's ok with drinking frozen ebm.. i'll be away for 5 days so frozen ebm is wat she's gg to have for next few days hee... she also like ur boy, only drink very little, each feed confirm throw away 30ml min, heartpain
 
fatbabe, ya lor.. she will fuss when she wana sleep. how ah? when she fall aslp liao gtta see if she's in active sleep or deep sleep. i usually will wait for her to fall into deep sleep. then if she wakes up, i will try to pat her to sleep. if really cnt then carry lor. At night i see timing. if 3 hours liao then i just latch her. normally she sleeps quite well at night so i jus feed n slp.

shokel, ur bb so fast can slleep fr 2+ to 6+ v gd liao leh... when my bb was at ur age, i was in the "sunrise club" with miumiu, etc lor. only nw better...
 
Oh mummy, yr bb can sleep 3-4hrs juz on latching alone at nite ? I latch at nite - usually 1 side then feed her with bttle ebm then she can sleep for almost 3hrs (fr the time she wake up). By the time I rest after pumping, only manage 2 catch 1-1.5hrs sleep ar nite. So tiring.....;p

Btw, did yr bb make some noise when sleeping &amp; latching ? My bb always make noise while she sleep &amp; hv been making noise even when latching. Anyone know why ?

Re : ebm
To prevent wastage, I usually separate 60ml for bb feed &amp; keep the remaining in fridge to be combine for next feed with another ebm.
E.g. take 60ml out fr 80ml. Remain 20ml to be combine with another ebm.
 
Ainsley, think my boy's pattern n your gal's pattern is the same. my boy will want people to carry him n pat to sleep, once put in cot then Ong ehhhhhh ong ehHhhh, then when stop patting he will peep like tat like c you there anot...hai yooo...then put in cot after awhile then start ong ehhh...wau lau put a few times also like tat like want me to exercise like tat arrgghhh....

re: haircut

where you all bring your babies for hair cut n how much does it cost?? my boy's hair like long liao want to go cut b4 CNY
 
mstan, its normal that they make noise. grunts n squirms, etc. i usually leave her alone n let her put herself bk to sleep or just pat her... i will nt carry her or latch her when i hear those noises.. only till she really wakes up n cry.. lol...

Augleo- haha thanks for the "tinkles", i'm aware of that too but so far not much comments from any mummies, so personally i dun wan to set a restriction to the timing, as long as 90% of mummies had arrive we will start the program most prob. around 2 to 2.30pm. Thinking of setting up a small reception at the entrance so that at least am aware of who had arrived and at the same time mummies can placed their exchange gifts there. I will firm everything after CNY, don't want to firm now in case when nearer date there's any major changes or in case it's slip our mind about the gathering.... so u will see more posts regarding the gathering after CNY? BTw u wana help me with the reception?? hehe...
 
roxy- haha my little Daphne is a milk "monster"... scared me too... stop at 100ml in fact but she keep crying so now increased to 130ml but sometime she still look hungry :p

To make things worse for you, newborns awaken easily. This is because they spend a large portion of their sleep time in “active sleep,” a light sleep state characterized by fluttering eyelids; relatively rapid, irregular breathing; occasional body movements; and vocalizations (grunts or brief cries).

Newborn sleep follows a different pattern. When a newborn first falls asleep, she enters into immediately into “active sleep.” This rather restless sleep state is the newborn-equivalent of REM (rapid eye movement) sleep in adults. Just as adults are more likely to awaken during REM, newborns are more likely to awaken during active sleep (Anders 1979; McNamara et al 2002).

Newborns remain in active sleep for about 25 minutes, after which they slip into a deeper sleep state known as “quiet sleep.” Compared to active sleep, quiet sleep is characterized by slower, more rhythmic breathing, little movement, and no eyelid fluttering. Babies are less likely to awaken during quiet sleep, but this situation doesn’t last long. After another 25 minutes or so, the sleep cycle ends. Newborns then either awaken or begin another 25 minute stretch of active sleep (Anders 1979; McNamara et al 2002).

So newborn sleep is different in several important ways. For one thing, newborns spend much more time in active sleep than adults spend in REM. Whereas adults spend only 20% of their sleep time in REM, newborns spend 50% of their sleep time in active sleep. As a result, newborns spend a much greater proportion of the time “sleeping light.”

girls, where do you all do your rebonding and colouring etc? Thinking of going do my hair too after nine months of messy hair! but would the chemicals affect the breastmilk??

anisley my boy finally slept @ 11.30, then he woke himself up at 12 by his scary cries like have a nightmare like tat, now feedin him eyes big big look @ me…haizzz…gone r the days tat he nap for 2-3 hours .…

genesis- ya in fact can go normal barber, but because i afraid the blade that they used for the shaver is not clean or is sharp so i go prof. one- they using plastic-like blade and they sterlise! :p Anyway intend to let me gal keep her hair long so first time investment is worth it

min- i went twister at HGM for my rebonding, just request the hairstylist not to touch the scalp and i discard the next 2 pumps after the treatment. Actually 1 pump is good enuff but i more KS , hehehe

i am too tired to heat up EBM dats why i latch..usually i will feed EBM and pump..cos latching takes v long..pump 20 mins only....

my boy is 3 weeks old...but drinks 100ml every time...i think if your girl is putting on weight...there's no cause for concern..4.7kg is juz nice or a 6weeker...

bringing my boy for his 2nd hep b jab tomolo.. then will noe how he has been growing for the past 1 mth.. btw, i'm gonna bring bb to GP. will GP oso measure the bb's weight, head circumference, length, do the survey, etc? or only PD will do it?
 
btw siri, howz the medela accessories spree going? every time i looked at the breastshields, i'm wondering if they can tahan another pump... sighz.. hope to receive the extra shields soon..

bb hair cut:
shaved my bb's hair at neighborhood salon at S$6. i gave the hairdresser an ang bao too since is full month.
 
cayenne, the parcel has not reached vpostUSA.. haiz... so slow. but i expect the parcels to reach these few days. then once i pay for the shipping, the parcels will reach me in 5-8 working days. me also wait until neck very long liao...
