can someone advise me.....when open up the HT brown rice, the 1st appearance is white flaky cereal?

If you refer to XiaoZhu's situation, I'm sure they will not put it back on the shelf since she already opened the box.
However if someone were to return an unopened box, I'm sure it goes back on the shelf since they probably have no reason to discard it or return to the supplier.

HT cereals packaging:
Old packaging - 227g, plastic seal outside the box none in the box.
New packaging - 170g, no plastic seal outside the box and plastic seal inside the box (from what i gathered her cos i haven't opened my new ones).
HT and HB brown rice cereal both not brown hahaha. i noticed my girl seems to eat more heartily at home for cereal, dunno if it's cos we dun have a proper highchair for her at my mum's place. hmmm..

same, when davien is smaller, v difficult to put him to sleep at night. have to carry and rock him. nowadays easier, just need to pat him then he'll slp. think the pattern already being build up. he'll sleep latest by 10am then up by 6+ as need to bring him to my mil b4 go to work.

jules's mum: Thanks for all the tips! We do try most of them, except the filing of nails. We did it once or twice then someone mention it thins the nails, so we stopped. Sean uses Seba Med too, the bath and the moisturiser. I am going to get some of that California Baby Calendula Cream! Is there a BP for it now?

maomi u can get calendula cream from spree or from mom essential (kk or suntect) if possible get from spree cos it is really a lot cheaper. my boy oso has eczema... last time it was so bad tat he would cry when bath. then i changed the my son's bathing foam and shampoo to seba med. then everyday i would apply calendula cream on him twice a day to moisturise his skin. if i find red patches or small red pimple like rashes on his skin i would use mild steriod cream on them instead of calendula to control instead.

I buy Gerber juice in the large 946ml plastic bottle. I find that buying the larger size is always of better value
But for travel convenience, I buy a few small Heinz juice bottles too.
Strangely enough, I found that Heinz large bottles contains colors and additives, but not their small bottles.
Weird, so I chose Gerber instead.

I use regular room temperature to prepare my cereal. I don't see a need for Ethan to eat hot cereal and he doesn't mind it either.
Don't use hot water as you will get lumps in your cereal. Using lukewarm will be best but since you find that it turns cold soon after, try alternating room temp and hot water, stirring continuously so as to reduce lumps.
Tedious, but it worked for me when I gave warm cereal previously.
I know that using hot water does kill off the good stuff, so it's a no no when preparing FM. I assume that the same goes for cereal.

for juice, gerber's made from concentrate right? i remembered that i can;t one that's more 'natural'. can we make our own juice? but will oxidise (turn brown) so quickly. any ideas..
btw mummies, don't try blending potato, it'll turn into a giantic gluey mess. sweet potato is fine though.. i find the jap sweet potato less sweet than the local version, hope my girl can accept it..

huh insects in the HT barely cereal........... shit i oso bought 1 box of HT barely cereal from NTUC weeks ago but hv nt opened yet. Plan 2 give my boy on mon, nw must ask my mum 2 check b4 give him oredi. Cannot imagine if the insect nv crawl out then u make the cereal & let ur bb eat......... must complain 2 HT on this cos is for bb's consumption wan lei.

Any of you bring your bb to swim in the pool yet? What do you let them wear? My gal reaching 6 mths soon, thinking of bringing her to my pool, was trying to find one of those swimsuits which can keep her warm (those with sleeves, like diving suits) but can't seem to find any in her size! Tried mothercare but they don't have such small ones. Anyone can share on where to get such swimsuits?
maro: yes, Kayla sleeps in sleeping bags which I bought from Babycenter -> http://store.babycenter.com/product/code/6266.do?intcmp=Store_Contentsite_Global_Search&pn=Search%20results. Love these as it is 100% cotton, hence its not that warm for aircon temperature. The ones they sell in Singapore, ironically, are of a thicker material and can be quite warm. I got 2 from Mothercare, and they are quite thick leh, don't really like them. It costs about $40+ to $70+ for a sleeping bag in Singapore while its only US$14 from Babycenter.
Sputnik: I don't bring my baby to the pool yet as PD has advised against due to chlorine and bacteria. So only will bring her when she is 1 year old. At this moment, will make do with Hwa Xia. I remember seeing Liferacer swimwear in Mothercare though, not sure whether sizes run small.

I have been conscientiously doing GD English and Chinese cards with my daughter (or rather my mom) for 3+ months now. Takes a lot of effort and can get very tiring.

my fren who bulk purchased HT stuff fr distributor, found the same insect thingy in barley too! she mentioned the other items were fine except the barley....so look like barley has the tendency to attract creepy crawlies. so best is open the box and check all package contents.
