Decided to start this thread since there is little info in this forum. Please share what worked for you!
Let me share mine:
Some background info: mine is elective caesar for breech, spinal anaesthesia

1. Pain control - not much pain for up to 16 hrs post op, as the spinal effects are still present. Thereafter I took all the given meds (2panadol & 2 ibuprofen) before I started having pain. Key is to stay ahead of the pain, it helps alot especially with walking and getting out of bed. I tapered off painkillers as the days progressed, and took them as i needed.

2. Pooping
I pooped on D6 post op. Ate lots of bananas and vege. Tried a few times to poop before that but was afraid of straining. On D6 the pain was significantly lesser and I strained while putting firm pressure on my wound with my hands. It helped greatly. What a relief to poop!

Background info: 2 C-sects, First was Epidural, Second injection of spinal block caused sharp pains in legs so given GA in the end

1. Manage your emotions especially if it's emergency C-sect... When the reality and pain sets in, the emotions can be quite overwhelming. Focus on what is important - the baby and his/ her safety.

2. I had difficulty having milk come in after number 1 due to over-exhuastion from induced labour (>48 hours) and emergency C-sect after... So for number 2, I started to hand express after I reach 37 weeks as I know I should be doing elective csect. I brought the colostrum in syringes (frozen) to the hospital and passed to the nurses who fed the baby after he is born... and I continue to latch and pump after... True enough, the milk came in on day 4 the second time!
