Hi all,

My gynae assistant made an appointment for me with thomson diagnostic imaging centre. I am 10 weeks and the appointment is in 2 days time. Is it a must to go? As i am still in the first trimester. They made an appointment with TMC without consulting me first, is there something wrong with my baby but they didn't want to tell me until there's an actual black and white results? What must i prepare myself with? I am clueless about this.

Hello, nothing to worry about, just go for it. Oscar is just a screening, result will never be black and white in the first place. Accuracy is 90%. Oscar just draw some blood from your hand and also a ultrasound scan.

Nothing is a "MUST" to go, if you dun want to go or/and refuse to pay for it, they will surely not carry out the oscar for you de. It is very common that Gynac usually will reccommend it.

Take it easy ya. Enjoy ur preggency

They will make an appt for you but u can choose not to go. If im not wrong, Oscar can be only done btw 12-14 weeks, so they rather make appt for your first but u can choose not to turn up

I'm 9 weeks pregnant & will be going for Harmony test on coming Mon (10 weeks). We had opt for Harmony due to the accuracy rate for DS as compared to Oscar.

Hey
Was given the option of Oscar and Harmony. For greater peace of mind take the Harmony and skip Oscar. Harmony is 99% accurate. Oscar gives you the probability your baby will have DS expressed in a ratio.

hello, Oscar is said to be 90% accuracy. Harmony i think is tell you high OR low risk.

Oscar is 90% accurate with 5% chance of false positive. Harmony is 99% accurate with 0.1 % false positive. Harmony DNA testing is done. Think 99% accuracy would give greater peace of mind. Just my two cents. Because so far on the forums it seems its oscar test results giving uneccesary worry and anxiety and not harmony.
