In America, volunteering has a great history and a long tradition due to historical and religious features, so the phenomenon is well studied and described (by the way, in the USA, as in many other countries, the state transfers some, for example, rescue functions to volunteers, providing them with equipment and consumables — for example, in small American towns, firefighters — trained volunteers who have a different core profession, but if necessary by agreement with their leaders, they leave for fires).

It's really really cool to pass on some public tasks to volunteers. So you can help those who need it faster and temper the character of the younger generation, which I think is very important.
