    My son was like that too... turns out it was because of an insensitive comment by the teacher that hurt him. he refused to say initiallly, i could get nothing out from the teacher also (for obvious reasons) i was so upset and desperate when it happened.

    I put my son in Chongfu Primary. Because it is part of the Hokkien Association, the schools tied to this association are all quite well known. they are AiTong, TaoNan, Konghwa etc I heard there are scholarships given to the alumni as well. Hope it helps! :)
