They are called floaters.
Due to aging process. Your kid sounds too young to have floaters though.
On a safe side, better to bring your kid for an eye check

Found that pricking on thumb helps.
And press a bit harder against thumb when you are trying to prick.
It is some kind of blood disorder. I got a friend whose husband and she belong to the major group. Luckily her kids turn out to be fine. Affected kids have a much shorter life span.
Actually I do believe there are complicated cases from private hospitals but were settled privately. So private hospitals we thought might have lesser complaints.
