Long vs short protocol on ivf

Dear sisters, anyone has any ideas what is the difference between the 2 protocols? Is it true that the long protocol is better for older women cos it yields better quality eggs?

Hi, I understand that it does not exactly yield better eggs but helps to promote even growth of follicle during stimulation compared to a short cycle. There are some cases where some eggs grow faster than the rest, resulting in the rest unable to catch up, thus missing a number of potential eggs as a result.

Hi, yes advised by gynae. Usually they will advise short protocol unless you have tried this before and doesn't work for you or due to certain factors, this is more preferred than the other. According to reports, result shouldnt differ too much between the 2..
