Ya.. did check b4, tat y doc said ask we go for IVF instead. Doc said my man sperm first time check is bad, second time seem ok, when actual day then is worse Doc said most probably is sperm issue

What he suggest now? Have u 2 taking any multivitamin? Ask him take vitamin c, vitamin e, coq10 and zinc also. Less coffee and smoking if possible. No alcohol.

hi may i know is it always the 1st ivf cycle will not be successful?

Actually I do know of sisters who BFP on 1st try.

Usually the 1st IVF cycle is like a trial & error, from there, the doc will tweak on the dosage of stimms to tailor according to your needs

For my case, last week I have to do scanning for Diagnostic Imaging but unfortunately the doctor can't see the cervix so too bad I have to see the gynae what they can go.

all the best! wah the queue is til april now? just to encourage you i got positive beta from my first try, now is waiting game to 6 week ultrasound the days seem to pass by very slowly when you're waiting for something! my hubs was given immuvital and he ate it for few months, dont know if it made a difference but no harm trying

Yes till April and there is a block date on April 13 to Apirl 21 due to cleanup the surgery room. CONGRAT!! do you have any tips that die die must do to get BFP for 1st ivf?

the doc who prescribed immuvital was dr Loh Song Fei from TMC he then transferred us to KK and i was under Dr Tan Heng Hao so we can get the IVF govt grant, very kind of him. I read what others wrote during ivf which was to take more protein but mainly it's to avoid OHSS which i was scared of and true enough i still kena mild- moderate OHSS! thank God now is much better already but other than that just do as per normal and take it easy, go shopping , eat whatever you feel like eating and be happy! all the best dear!

I was in hospital for 2 nights. Other than that lots of water n protein.. no other way apparently. I am 30 this year dont read too many scary stories dear.. everybody is different ya. I find the needles ok like of course got discomfort but i just suck it up and think of the good things that come out of it. You're gonna do great

Nurse will tell you your injection and u/s schedule. Mine was first initial scan on 3rd day menses then 2nd scan about 10 days later to check how your follies react to the injections n 3rd scan about 3 days after to confirm follies are ready and they'll tell you egg retrieval date. So best is u wait til ur initial scan day.

Im not sure about others but was 3x for me because when they scanned me at 10 days after injections, my egg sizes were not optimal for retrieval so inject 2 more days n rescan 3rd times and all the eggs were good sizes for retrieval..

yup, this is to monitor the egg size (for fresh cycle). Once they hit approx 16-18mm, then it's more or less ready for ER. Some ladies responded well to the stimms, hence, it's about 3 - 4x for them. Some do not respond too well, hence, the frequency of scanning is higher.

Thanks so much for explaining... I'm now waiting for my menses to report so I can call kkivf to start my injection... so stress that it's not here yet, so I just ate 2 slices of pineapple to induce the menses, not sure if it works

Hi all, KKH just called me and I am on list for April 2017 cycle. Quite a Long wait right... just signed in today to the forum after TTC for 2 years and finally on Ivf route . Would like to share my experience so far and going forward to be support to each other. To start with - I just find it funny - I wonder how KKH works - they can call me same day 4-5 times to schedule appt A, then another nurse call me same day for appt B and other new information C to be shared etc . Can I confirm the following ?
1/ we need to go for Ivf Counselling session cost $300+?
2/ if there's hypertension or high blood pressure background , need to see anystetic specialist ? That will cost few hundred again ?
3/ blood test for hiv etc need to take every 6 months ?

I believe these are all the so called hidden and additional cost correct ? Are they reasonable ? I ask if I can get my own reports required for whatever they need as pre requirement ; the nurse blur blur replied me said , Er no , this is compulsory etc etc

Hmmm , how's everyone else experience ? Anyone starting cycle in April ?

1 - yes we need to attend the briefing before our ivf cycle

2 - you can do the blood test anywhere in sg, I did mine at dsc clinic as it is more ex to do at kkh since I'm a private patient (under dr thh) .. dsc costed me sgd 83.20 via kkh costed me sgd 120 (based on last nov 2016 price when I did it for iui)..
I can't recall whether hiv blood test expiry in 6 months or hepatis b or c.

I will be on jan cycle...all the best

Hi all scan and doc reviews done at morning time. They starts to prepare u for ER ET from morning and done around 1-2pm. So mostly all will be in morning. U can shift ur work to evening time and for ER ET u should rest afterward.

Hi dear, i am also between april to may 2017. hope to have you as cycle buddy. My AF jus came and feel nothing can be done against god will. my issue is my hb has low sperm and poor sperm morphology

i only got 1 call from them to book ivf briefing, i received the call around last week. the briefing cost $300 to $ 400 plus as stated on a piece of paper given by the doctor on the last consultation. They got brief me also. Blood test is compulsory and each test only can last for 6 months. we did a test on feb 2016 and i wanted to delay the ivf till next year so ding ding dong dong until now so need to retest before the ivf briefing. can go during sat. we have spend alot for al those scans and checkings. i think almost 1k.
already deducted $300 from my medisave which is capped for a year

I called KKIVF and was told that menses will come after 3 to 7 days after completion of pills... I'm keeping my finger cross now, hopefully will report anytime... it's so frustrating when I'm getting all the symptoms but not the redness which I wanted to see so badly

Yeah I had sore breasts for so long but the menses still did not arrive. Has it been 7 days since your last dosage?

Ohh..the baseline could be done on day 2 or 3 so dont worry. but best on day 2. Dont stress. Its only been 4 days!

DSC. . It is because I wan to save money for blood tests. You can check the prices from gp. I checked from polyclinic but they only do certain tests.

The private costs should be cheaper than glen e.. Mount e.. and most important is you can utilise the govt funding as long as one of your is citizen

There are no any fastest way to get appt fixed at KKH... u have to go through a series of test, doctor consultation, scan and briefing before embarking on the "real" ivf journey... my advice is you have to quickly call kkivf to get an appt date with your desired doctor if u are ok with the private consultation rates. Otherwise have to get a referral letter from polyclinic to be subsidised, but u are not able to chose the doctor u want.

Hmm... I think you should be able to skip some test, maybe you can call KKH and arrange for the appt date first, bring along the test result and show the Dr... depending on the Dr... the fresh cycle now is until April... so better act fast

I haven go through the cycle yet, waiting for my menses for me to start the injection... so I can only roughly advise you based on my spending till date... assuming it's a short protocol, during the briefing we were told it will be about 10K to 15K... not sure how much the total will be if it's the long protocol... Before the cycle, the consultation, tests, briefing and scanning already total up to about 1.5K for me... hope it helps

The scans are the most expensive. it cost me $400 to $500 already with subsidised rate. maximum claim from the medisave is $300/yr and I topped up cash for the remaining amount around $190. Next follow by blood test also quite expensive for husband and wife. I remember my last blood test is $90. Husband has not tested as during that time we did not finalised whether to do ivf or not. Yes! I did the SIS scan too... about $450, using $300 from medisave... I even did a retest of my blood test as Dr need to re confirm on some test. Sperm test for hubby is $80, can't rmb the cost of blood test for him ... all this miscellaneous stuff adds up

Ur 10 to 15k does it include the govt subsidy? I saw an article saying there is a 6.3k govt funding for kkh,sgh& nuh..

So if is abt 10k - 6.3k govt funding - 6k medisave.. end up dont need to fork up a single cent??
