Thanks. I'll be strong n positive. Gynae has fixed appt for the amnio test on 16 Dec. Though i m scare but i keep telling myself tat i gotta be strong. Whatever outcome it is, i think its fated. Maybe i had a MC on my 1st pregnancy, tats y i have phobia on pregnancy.

 
Hi Orange, my amnio test is on the same day as you. But after e-mailing ruffles, i will be going to see Dr Anandakumar first to get earlier confirmation. Not sure what will be my next step, but will talk to this doc first and weigh my options. I will be seeing him next week.

i was at the National library today. Apprarently they are having a promotion for mums-ton-be. As long as you are a mum-to-be and a NLB member, fill in the form and you get a gift from the NLB.

It consists of a disc of songs and nursery rhymes and stuff. as well as a book called "my baby journal" for you to record everything about the baby. Go get it if you are keen.

 
Hi, i am a first time mum, when do we usually know the gender of the child? And when do we usually feel the first movements?



My hubby is asking me every day if i feel anything, but i dont know what to look out for it.

 
Mrs Goh, it depends, as some mothers can feel the baby as early as 16weeks. But I think for first time mummies, it should be around 18 to 20 weeks. It is just a gauge.

 
I am a 1st time mum too. now abt 15-16 weeks. Ususally, I can feel baby's heatbeat around tummy area when I lye down on bed. If stand or sitting, might not able to feel. (keke... maybe too much fats)

Orange, I'm doing my amnio at TMC. Yes, I'm seeking 2nd opinion before going for the amnio. Just to get the results asap. The scan i'm going can be done at week 14/15. Amnio only can be done from week 16.

Im still looking forward to my next appt on the 08/12/09. Any idea when would Dr to able to see the gender? I went for DS scan on my 13th week and now im on my 15th week.

Oic. i m doing the test on week 16. i m very scare abt the pain. Btw, what scan will u be going? Is it going to be accurate juz like amnio? i am very confused and dont know wat to do right now. Waiting for 3 weeks is like a hell for me cos i keep having negative tots. Sigh!

what's your maternal instinct? on ur bb gender? my mil initially kept asking hubby if i was having terrible ms.. cos she was sure that meant i had a boy.. and when he told her i didn't, well, her dreams were crushed (my feeling)... hehe

think u can see ur bb gender during ur next visit.. ylc found out during her 11week, i found out during 13th week..

if ur gynae refuses to divulge, just get him/her to be factual.. i.e is there anything between the legs?

i'm in my 15 going towards 16th week, and my tunmmy has expanded somemore...

had to loosen 1 button of my maternity skirt this morning and my previously new and loose top is now hugging the rounds of my tummy...



btw, for maternity yoga at tmc, it costs $160.5 for 5 sessions in TMC and they only need min of 5 preggies to start the class. So far only the Dec class is confirmed..

Orange, I know how it feels. It's always the waiting time that kills. But do take note, for amnio, you will need about 2 weeks for the results to be out. If you want fast (the term called FISH), you can opt for that. Not sure, how much yr side will charge you extra. They can give you results within 3 days.



The scan is not as accurate as amnio. Amnio is almost 100% accurate. For the scan that I'm going, it's actually more like the 20 week detail scan. More detailed and they look for soft markers for any abnormalaties in the baby as well as the bb's organs. For amnio, they are based on chromosome abnormalities.



Don't worry about the pain. It's quite minimal. Just that, make sure after you have done yr amnio, have bedrest for the rest of the day. Don't carry heavy stuff and walk too much.

 
Hi Sue, I gave been good. Been busy at work and with my sister's wedding preps and the weekend was busy attending my cousin's wedding. Next weekend is my sister's. I dont get enough rest and i feel tired. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/sad.gif]



MS is better, not much throwing up but sometimes early in the morning when i brush, i gag and throw up some yellow liquid and phlem.



Well, I guess its a boy, my sister is a nurse and she is thinks its a boy, so do my parents and in laws thinks its gal. We are happy for either.[IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]



i was hoping to find out on my 13th week scan but the radiographer said its too early and didnt not tell us.ummm....

Hi Mrs Goh, Some people able to find out the gender on 14th week. Well it depend on baby position. I can feel a little bit baby movement esp at night time. I guess it becasue my baby wants to hear story from me. I started to read story book to my baby since 13 weeks. A bit amazing right?

Audrey, I dont know how she neos la, you neo all these nurses are expereinced. Anyways, she say, if tummy is narrow and more rounder, its a boy, if its a gal, tummy would be more spread around your hip.

Hi mattsmummy, I'm 16 weeks this week and haven't know baby's gender. Going for scan this Sat hopefully will able to know. Countdown...4 more days to go!!

maybe can know the gender. the tummy starting to feel tight and firm this morning.

i used to have evening sickeness

and currently always feel mouth full of saliva.

ehheheh.

once 5th month will start pre natal massages.

my mum's has some training in it

feel very tired in the evenings and moody till about dinner time (8pm).



did anyone try the chinese gender chart or ring.chain method??

one said boy and the other movement for girl me confused!!!!



i can't stand cold places. went city sq the other day. less than 5 mins "all came out"

wow maggie mee u can drink enmum ah... for me after 1 pack of enmum i gain 2kg!!! so i stop... now only drink HL every morning and evening...



sumathi... so nice can hav mummy do prenatal massage... i wonder where i can get good prenatal message... ever since preggy i'm always having body ache esp when my job need me to drive and walk alot... so tiring...



tanglin mall prenatal yoga sounds cheap... who's planning to go?

Welcome to the thread. Im also a first time mum.I have not been taking milk for preggy, cos hubby fear it can be too heaty.only taking anlen in the morning.

I have Enmum too. But due to my MS. I have to dilute it. I have 2 scoops of the milk powder instead of 4. Oh! I also add my favourite nestle cereal in it to make it taste better. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

 
I'm drinking Dumex brand. But I think I will stop after finished this tin. Really don't like the vanilla smell.



Can drink HL? Then I will change to HL instead.

I heard HL milk is ok. High in calcium. But you drink it cold or you warm it up?



Sometime I will just ask my husband to get me a warm soya milk if I don't feel like drinking the "cow" milk. Ha!

 


I think for HL you only can drink cold. I heard not very good if you warm it. But my baby doesn't like cold one. So headache...
