Congrats all mummies who have popped! so exciting hor?

Me just went gynae this morning. baby grew to 3.2kg.. but dr fong says might be 3.5kg at birth. i ask him if still can deliver naturally.. he says "why not?" aiyo.. i really hope my deliver will be short.. suddenly thinking if i shld c-sect instead.

Still no signs of pain even though my edd is next fri!! hah.. was telling my hubby.. this is the first time i hoping for pain man.

Sandy, Jeanie, does Dr fong do VE and check dilation during your visit? so far, he only did VE once during my 37wk.. aft tt, no more. Wonder if i am already dilated..

i also went for my check up this morning. bb is 3.2kg at 35w4d. tentatively scheduled my csect to be on 18 dec. hubby gg to confirm the date wi master this coming sat.
 
Iris... ur bb is big. Mine was onli 2.2 at 33wks and juz last fri, doc predict is onli a 200~400gr increase which make it 2.6 at 35 wks.

mummies having babies no.2/3 are u planning to buy somethng for the kids to do a small gift exchange??

my mum says old folks believe if do gift exchange then next time they will not fight so mch and the elder ones will not b jealous of the new arrival.

more scientifically, i readd fr a book and it says tat cos we tend to pay more attention to the new baby. even guest turn up is also to see the new baby. so the elder ones might feel like its not "their show". so if we get a gift for them @ least they dun feel left out or that the baby got so many new things n gifts.
 
yiqi: I just got for my no.1 a present. Will bring the present and place it beside no.2. When no.1 comes to visit me in hospital, I will give her the present and tell her the present is from didi

Hi Yiqi... Yes I am doing that. Will bring along a gift when Im gng to deliver so that when my eldest cm over to the hospital, will tell him that this is a gift fr his sibling to say hi and love him

i oso went for my chk-up tis morning.
tot my bb is big, 2.9kg @ 34w5d.
urs is even bigger - 3.2kg @ 35w4d.

so, ur gynae said tt ur bb can hang on till 18 dec ah?
mine said tt tis one shld come b4 xmas.
he was even joking tt i can celebrate bb's full-mth during xmas.

so, the water retention prob oso terok, but so far, oni stay @ feet area.
 
Ling Lee, I was wondering whether isit normal to have water retention all the way up to my thigh? Been asking around and everyone seem to face it at the feet area only.

no.1 de i bought alr. No. 2 de no idea wat to buy for him.
and also planning to buy 1 for baby and get no. 1 to give baby when she come visit.
 
i'm bringing my #1 &amp; #2 to toys r us tis fri to choose their presents frm the bb.

mummyfel, oni #1 bought for the bb.
think #2 still quite self-centred to think abt the bb, coz he himself is a big bb. haha...
hopefully, he'll b more mature when bb arrives.

my eldest is alr 8 so i am sure she have no problem getting a present for mei mei..
my boy is only 3 so i think if i bring him to the toy shop to buy something, he will grab a lot for himself..

just the other day i bought the FP baby rocker home he alr using it every night to drink his milk. my sister commented that when baby come don;t know he will allow the baby to sleep in it or not.

yiqi, my #1 is gonna b 7 tis dec, so like wat u said she's more mature.
in fact, my sis told me my gal said tt she'll oso get something for her bb who would b arriving soon too.
my boy though is gonna b 6 nxt jan, still behave like a big bb.
prob like ur boy, he'll end up choosing for stuffs for himself than for 'di-di'.
 
ling lee >> ya lor.. they are @ the age bu da bu xiao like tat. still quite self centered. my mum ask me to watch the baby carefully don't the the boy cover her with pillow or whatever.

and boys they don't have the "care instinct" like girls. When no.2 was born, my ger very naturally know what she sld n sld not do with the baby.i can go bath while she help me keep a look out for the new born. But i look @ my boy now, i don't think i can fang xin to leave him alone in the room with the baby.

Went out to run errand in the morning... and boss gave me the afternoon off... so now I am home yippeess..

I oso bought some gift for my 2 elders kids.. and will told them the gift is from bb :)... it will be different from the X'mas gift.. cos is different meaning.. I choose to believe..

though my gal was less than 13 mths old when my boy was borned, she was able to 'sayang' the boy gently &amp; doted on him.
but looking @ my 'chor-lor' boy, i dun think i can trust him to even 'jaga' the bb for a while.
think our eyes nd to b really wide-open when he goes near the bb... hahaha...

looking @ the way he was playing with my 14 mth old niece the other day, i m sure he's gonna disturb the bb a lot... sigh...
so, kinda worried tt he'll develop a middle-child syndrome, if kenna too much scolding frm us.
but how to not scold him when he's up to mischief...

so, other than taking care of the needs of the bb, still gotta think of how to cater to the emotional nds of the 2 older ones, esp #2.
so stress...

joanne - last time colig even had water retention on fingers.. i tink it shd be normal.. mayb cuz of water retention that is y got weight gain.. dun worrie.. all will be gone after few mths of delivery oki??

hope my bb can tahan inside till 38w although gynae say 37w is ok to come out liao. my #1 even bigger, my #1 was 3.45kg at 35w. next week my gynae is on leave so hopefully no surprises although there is a standby gynae to take over if really got surprise

yup will be getting a present for #1 and bring it to the hospital when i deliver. will tell him that's a gift from mei mei.

Yup... mummies.. pls be mentally prepared when the NB is out.. the siblings will be super jealous.... and can last for 1YEAR!!!... and I really had a hard and stressful time.. :-(
 
my eldest took it qite well when no. 2 came.
funny thing is she only show sign of jealosy when the boy was abt 1 yo.
 
i think very impt to tell them what to expect when baby is here and y we r more careful towards the baby. @ the same time make them feel like they also very impt as kor/jie.
i told my ger abt the pregnancy fr the start.
she quite anticipating.

my boy.. i don't think he know what is going on yet.

Yah I am quite stressed out by the possibility of my no.1 being jealous. Have been reading books about it and the more I read, the more stressed I am!

my concern is that baby will be too big then have to do emergency c-sect. but since my gynae says ok, then i have to trust him lo. hee..

i have bad water retention in my feet and ankles. legs also slightly swelling and reddish. when i press on it, it will leave a whitish mark for a while kind.. but i think as long as ur blood pressure is ok, this is normal. dun worry!
 
ling lee, haha.. if u going to celebrate full mth on xmas, means u need to deliver today le! haaha.. does tt mean tt ur gynae hinting u tt bb engaged le?
