looks like u got oversupply hor? one prob abt hvg too much supply is there will be an imbalance ratio of foremilk n hindmilk so u just watch out for that ok.

When to feed BB,

Is it a must to feed bb every 2-3hrs? Sometimes she sleeps in till 4-5hrs later... Do I wake her up?

I have this thinking if she sleeps in even better... because I got time to express more milk and store!!!

the 1st few days dh still at home so he told me just go and bath (w/o washing hair) so i can clean up. my mil was shock to know that i run water to clean my wound (that's what i told my mil cannot say i bath) so the next day she brought the herb to boil. i thot i can bath but she say cannot it's for cleaning only.

i also cannot tahan so sneak to bath in the afternoon when mil goes out. i told dh bb will faint smelling stinky me. probably that's why when i had ds, he was sleeping throughout my confinement(more likely to faint thru confinement) as mil was more strict the other time. no joke cos i was sticky, smelly, not comfortable and hence suffering for mild post natal depression for a week.

balloons are juz balloons lor *LOLs* gt helium gas balloons meh?? i don't know...tot it's juz what kind of air/gas blown into the balloons tat makes them float or nt. Bt i've gt no idea where to get the helium gas which can make balloon float on its own. u can try asking them

ya, told my mum my mil don't allow me to bath she was shocked. she told me can bath with herb or water boiled with lenongrass. as long as we make sure we're dry can already, she can't imagine not bathing.*sigh* if not bec' of ds going to school i would have done my confinement at my parent's place.

Hello Mummies

I have given birth to baby Gabrielle on 19/9/09 under emergency c-section with epi.
She weighed 2.615kg &amp; was 48cm long at birth.

Had dilated to 9cm with epi initially, but unfortunately, it was stuck at 9cm for 4 hours.
Baby's heartbeat got low at times and my urine bag has blood (which means tt bb is pressing on the bladder). Doc says chances are tt I will not be able to dilate to the full 10cm &amp; suggested c-section for the safety of bb.

Btw, congrats to all mummies who have popped, &amp; after gg thru the contraction pains for just a short while, I really salute all the brave mummies who could tahan the labour without epi!!

Jen - good to see u again &amp; hope u have recovered well!

my mil initially don't allow aircon as well. dh told her since i'm already in aircon for 6 days in hospital, don't think there's a diff. all mummies and babies already in aircon when they're in hospital so there shouldn't be any health issue. ;)

so i went back to my room ask my CL how come she not ard when my mum pick up my girl to feed meh?
She said, " i was sleeping ma.. i didnt even hear her cry..."

she supposed to go market today...this morning raining, she said have enough to last till tonite..tmr then go loh...
only short of 1 vege....

On the other hand, she does cook well and prepare stuffs for me to eat, bathe, and all that..she's also pretty nice to bb..
but just that i think because we all too nice to her, she's getting abit lazy...

i complained to HB earlier..and he said will ask her to leave... she's paid to take care of bb...why is our bb crying and she not aware??
we cant even go out for a few hours in peace???

but she didnt pick up..she's also doing another confinement..so she's prob busy too...

Since cannot get that CL....HB say tonite he'll come back talk to my CL, and if any more complaints happen again, she'll leave immediatly...

my CL gets to sleep...like for example, now.... and at nite when i'm latching on, after cooking, she'll be watching TV or reading newspaper....

wantd to go to Lillian Lim for the injections but realised Dr Heng's charges are slightly cheaper! :) But if i need to bring baby to see PD, i would go to Lillian LIm since her clinic is quite near my new place. Lillian Lim charges $440 for the 6-in-1 jab.. Dr Heng charges $140 each time. Slightly cheaper i should say. :) 6th week if you taking 6-in-1. Else is 4th week if the normal one.

erhmm...actually many pple complain why CL don't do this or don't do tat...think 1.8K to do so many things is consider cheap le. to think tat it only come up to S$60+ a day and haf them stay wif us to cook, go marketing, bathe n clean bb, feed bb, do laundry, clean after cooking etc etc...

CL is a CL lor nt maid...her main duty is to make sure bb and mommy is taken care of and help in some of the duties which mommy usually does.

CL is human after all, they do and will get tired...even though YES they r paid to do so.

when my CL came to collect deposit for me, we already make know to ea other of the expectation of the duties to be done...told her tat though we r big family of 6, bt laundry can all be done by washing machine other than bb's...no nid to take care of older kids other than help them bathe coz i can't. I'll take care of the older kids myself...told her daily house chores like can do then do, but priority muz tend to bb 1st...

she do all the feeding too including night ones coz i don't bf. my bb is on ebm n fm...and she did tell me beforehand tat she needs to rest/nap in the afternoon. I am fine wif tat too coz i knew hw tiring it is to do night feeding esp my bb is one who is more alert and making more noise at night.....

when she bathe the older kids, i will help them put on clothes when she is done with them...when she is busy in the kitchen and bb cries coz she poop, i'll clean her up myself etc...

abt watching tv, she likes to catch 4.30pm and 9pm drama. I oso let her be...everyone needs a break. sometime i oso sit down and watch then we will chi chat a bit oso. think having someone to talk to during confinement mth is one way to keep me sane.....

maybe coz i am a SAHM without helper so i know it's nt easy to handle so many things alone...so i oso close one eye, give and take a bit.

given my character, on hygience wise, think no one can pass my std lor...so i rather choose nt to see, yan3 bu4 jian4 wei2 jing4...

juz want to haf good rest, being stress free and at then same time keep myself sane for this confinement mth. coz i don't wanna get post natal blues... as the saying goes xiu1 xi2 shi4 wei4 le4 zou3 geng4 chang2 de4 lu4, i wanna haf the energy to take care my big brood when she left...

anyway confinement mths usually makes one emotional and bad tempered lor coz of the 'mil, relatives, san gu liu po' and the cannot bathe thingy...and nt to mention the hibernating oso making us crazy...so smelly oso don't dare to go out, hahahaha....

I lun til 12 days then wash hair leh! really CRAZY! thereafter alternate days....i sleep in aircon oso...my gal sleep wif me mah...she is those no aircon cannot sleep type coz sleep in aircon since birth, no aircon will make a lot of noise when sleeping one, like hum bin...

Especially rare since i'm doing TBF. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!?!? Cannot even let me save on a few mths' worth of tampons meh?!?!

No wonder my milk supply suddenly dip lor! Previously feed K on 1 side enough liao, then suddenly 1 side not enough, had to give both sides. Then pump amt from 50ml/boob (during tandem pump) turn into 10ml/boob only. Yuan lai is because period come back le, so the hormone change affected my supply.

On the bright side, my wound is barely visible cos healed very well, and gynae say I can start to exercise le. Will be working on crunches to tone and flatten the stupid tummy.

I wish all of you mommies period don't come back so fast!! So pekchek to have period again after 10mths of no period. Eeeeyer!!

Now, struggling with the night feeds and understanding baby's cries. Struggled quite a bit with breast feeding initially, but think we're slowly getting the hang of it.

Just wondering, how soon do you start expressing and storing EBM? If my baby empties both breasts, do I still need to pump? After feeding, really have no energy left to pump. Just like to catch some sleep. Yawn!

At least you have your mom around when your CL was sleeping. If I really get CL and I go out, bb will be alone with CL leh. If she's the lazy kind, then how?!

I think since you already paid her, just finish the 1 mth lah, otherwise bo hua leh. Just don't give her extra angbao if you not 100% happy with her service lo.
 
Here goes my birth story…



4+am
Felt like my water bag was leaking.
Went to the toilet to clean up, and noticed that my mucous plug has dislodged.
Washed up, thinking that I can wait till a more sane hour like 6am, before going to the hospital.
Another gush of water. Guess not.

5am
Took a shower.
Did some last minute packing.
Woke hubby up.
Hubby showered.

5.45am
Left the house.
Popped by the post office to post some letters.

6.15am
Reached the hospital (called hospital on the way there so they can be on standby).
Midwife asked about my history etc.
Did a virginal examination and was surprised to find that I was already 5cm dilated as I told her I felt no pain/contractions.
Hubby was asked to see to the admission procedures.

6.45am
Enema given.
Poo-ed twice.

9.23am
I was asked if I wanted any pain killers.
Prior to this, I had already started using the laughing gas.
Another VE done. 7cm dilated. Had to decide on painkillers immediately as they can’t be administered any later else might have side effects.
Thinking that I hadn’t reached the peak of pain, I decided to take the pethidine jab.

9.27am
Pethidine administered by midwife. If I had opted for epidural, an anaesthetist will need to be called.
Pethidine takes ½ hour to take effect.

10.30am
9cm dilated.
Midwife got me to practice pushing. Her instructions – “push as if you are trying to pass motion”. ??? I had no idea what I was expected to do, and according to her, I wasn’t making much progress. Basically, the contractions come, and I’m supposed to push, hold for 10 seconds, and repeat till the contractions are gone. Typically that would be about 3 cycles of pushing. I was getting tired, and on the verge of giving up. Asked her if there were any alternatives.

11+am
Dr Thong appears.
Broke my water bag.
The pushing continues…

1.54pm Nathan’s born

Hubby and I are so thankful that God has given us Nathan. His hand is clearly visibly through my pregnancy and delivery, and we trust that He’ll continue to guide us as we seek to bring Nathan up in His ways.

can understand it is frustrating that your CL didn't attend to your baby. think talk to your CL first, give her a chance. at least she helps u to feed EBM at night. i'm latching all the way, so my CL helps me burp baby and clean his poo after i finish latching. she usually takes a nap in afternoon, sometimes read magazines which i bought, i'm fine with it

will pay balance only on last day...
but i also headache.. in a way, she's a good help... she's pretty nice and does take good care od both of us.. but sometimes..
i dunno leh..she will like raise her voice abit..like i said... familiarity breeds contempt....
so..dunno... but if let her go, i either gotta find another one..or just make do with my mum...

i no eat porridge..coz porridge got wind... coz of the water.. so my CL said cannot eat porridge wor.. Mmm..
yellow noodles also cannot eat....

haha. i had martell double boiled with chicken once..and my bb next day sooo red and alot of rashes... coz too heaty for her....

dun cry la.... i try not to also..sometimes i look at my baby u just feel like crying..
wahhaha... its like.. we went thru so much to get the baby out..
sometimes i think of the process i shudder.. hahaha...

my CL no need to do laundry...all she does is throw bb clothes (a few pieces with washcloths and diaper cloth(we use it to swaddle bb)) into the washing machine and hang them up..
even her clothes + bra she wash with us in the machine.. which my HB will wash at nite when he comes back..and he hangs them up to dry...
marketing once in 2 days.... i clean and change bb if i realised she poo or pee when i'm latching her, only thing i agree is she cooks, wash the dishes...
and now i try to let her wash and put into sterilizer for my pumps.. i used to wash them myself too..

she only feed bb with EBM once or twice at nite..the rest i latch on....
we are fine with her resting.. but not to the extent that my bb is crying..and she is unaware? and my mum gotta come and pick up my bb to bottle feed her, while CL continues to sleep??

i always bath after midnite.. and wash hair, but mus dry the hair immediately, now i have stopped wash hair for awhile. cuz i got headache duno isit due to washing hair during confinement

cuz suffering from pains, tiredness, stress and BF...

ya tat's y it's impt tat when we engaged a CL, muz know wat she will be doing, muz spelled it out and let them know our expectation...

my CL, even when she naps, she naps having bb wif her lor...

and i did tell her bb 1st...i'm fine wif hw she does her chores n cooking bt muz attend to bb 1st. bb hungry, feed bb 1st...lunch or dinner a bit late is ok...coz adults and older kids can 'dong' bt bb hungry will wail all the way...

my case n urs different, my CL really gt a lot to do...juz washing the dishes alone definitely more than urs liao...ya fr wat u said, agree she really sin nang compared to mine...

for the things she does, she juz charging the normal rate of 1.8K... for my previous CL, i in fact paid much more 2.1K...bt tat CL really damn 'hardworking'...

yea....washing hair causes headache..coz of the wind that gets into our head....

no..during my massage also no bathe..
i dry clean everyday morning and nite...
use the herb water use towel wipe wipe nia...
every 3 days once was 1st week....since this week, i bathe and wash hair every alternate day...buay tahan..need to keep sanity....
but i only bathe in the late morning..when its not too cold..too late at nite also no good....

i told her underwear hand wash pls.....

like i say i close one eye lor, my CL nt really tat fantastic oso la...

i wanna eat half boiled eggs, then turned out v raw, in the end i asked her throw. she say wanna prepare again, i say nvm no appetite liao full liao... told her i next day cook sunny side up can liao...guess wat? next day she still prepare half boiled eggs! AND....it turned out to be hard boiled eggs!!!!! then i remind her again: auntie, 2moro cook he bao dan can liao, i really don't want half boiled de liao...

initially when she feeds bb, she always feed half then continue the other half a while later, saying bb fell asleep while feeding or bb doesn't seems hungry...she will keep the milk warm in a cup filled wif hot water. I don't like it so i told her to let bb finish her milk at one go. muz wake bb if she fell asleep. if there's any left over, juz throw...don't warm it up again...i gt monitor her and she did listen lor...

once she making fm for baby. she took the btl to prepare fm and leave the teat on the table! then i told her: auntie, cannot place teat on the table like tat de u know. then sterilizing will be pointless coz we don't know if a lizard or roach has paraded the table earlier on...then she reply she yi shi wang ji. thereafter she use the btl cap before placing the teat on any surface liao...

Bt of course, i talk to her nicely la...my hub anything nt satisfy wif her, will tell me 1st so i can speak to her. coz my hub more chor lor, will sound like scolding her. Im more soft spoken so she will less likely to feel offended lor...

most impt, no matter wat im unhappy wif her earlier on, it's dui4 shi4 bu4 dui4 ren2 lor, i still talk or chat wif her like normal after tat...

we muz be firm n flexible at the same time lor, i think...

fly my aeroplane!! she agrees liao then back out. bt wat to do, cannot force her mah...

tat CL, she dun even nap or rest at all...always see her do this do tat...bt she is really good lor...

Hi all,

Anyone got any remedy for diaper rash? My baby is having bad diaper rash at the sides... (near the "balls")

Was applying California Baby Calendula Cream for the past few days but still no good... now I'm trying Talcum powder cuz my mum says can keep it dry to prevent more blistering...

Anyone got any good remedy?

my baby got v bad diaper rash too ever since he started wearing huggies few days back. the cutting so small S size cant even fit him but i so cheapskate dun wanna waste so keep making him wear. today rash v v bad almost turning blister aiyo i heart pain. past few days applied avent bottom balm useless crap, today applied calendula slightly better but i cant wait to see immediate effect so got hub to buy desitin.
