Start the year with the biggest, boldest, and most vibrant festival of light and colour in Singapore — the Light to Night Festival 2018: Colour Sensations.

There’s no better way to kick off 2018 than with the family than at the Light to Night Festival 2018! Happening in just two weeks, this second edition of the festival — themed ‘Colour Sensations’ — promises to paint Singapore’s Civic District in a dazzling array of colours that’ll have kids, parents, and ‘Grammers with their fingers on their (camera) triggers. From 19 to 28 January, dive into interactive light projections, immersive colour scapes, and performances that span across seven programme zones. There’s something for everyone to enjoy!

Art Skins on Monuments

Light to Night Festival 2018

Art Skins on Monuments is the biggest facade light show in Singapore, spanning four cultural institutions in the Civic District. Let kids watch in awe as a total of 30 design images created by artists, illustrators, and multimedia designers are projected onto the facades of the Asian Civilisation Museum, The Arts House, Victoria Theatre and Victoria Concert Hall, and National Gallery Singapore.

Chromascope

Light to Night Festival 2018

Ever seen the Civic District turn into a nocturnal wonderland? For the first time ever, National Gallery Singapore’s City Hall facade will become an interactive canvas for you to create public artwork on! So you can paint the town red and let your little one be a ‘stomp’ artist by stepping on stomping pads to project visuals onto the Gallery’s facade. What could be better for the kids than watching their artworks come to life?

Trip to the Colourspace

Light to Night Festival 2018

Bring Junior on a surreal experience through the Esplanade Park tunnel as it lights up in Trip to the Colourspace. Watch the interplay of coloured lights and shadows, and be enthralled by a display of vibrant hues. Adding music to the magic are performances by local bands such as Cosmic Child and Sang Mataharitidur Mati at the Esplanade Park.

The House is Crumbling

Light to Night Festival 2018

Pillow fight alert! The House is Crumbling is a sculptural installation made up of 4,000 knit pillows. Little monsters can run free and express their inner sculptor as they construct, de-construct, and re-construct different forms with these pillows. This interactive exhibition promises to unleash laughs, giggles, and loads of fun – especially for kids who love building pillow forts!

When: 4 Dec 2017 – 1 Apr 2018

Art X Social

Be right at the centre of all the action to soak in the festival atmosphere at Art X Social. With over 80 food and craft stalls at the Padang, you can complement your light watching experiences with yummy food and drinks! There’ll also be dramatised readings, music performances, poetry recitations, and artist talks to enjoy so come on down for some fun; there’ll definitely be something for every taste.
