New Apple Tools to Protect Kids Online

The Internet can be a wild place, and not always in a good way. While we adults have our challenges navigating it, it’s our kids who are especially at risk. But if your family uses Apple devices, here’s some good news: Apple just rolled out even more features to help keep your kids safe online. For starters, they’ve raised the age range for Child Accounts all the way up to 18 years — giving teens more age-appropriate experiences, especially in the App Store, and making sure they only see what’s right for them.
The updated Permissions Kit gives parents even more control, like deciding who kids can talk to and when. And here’s a smart one: if nudity shows up in FaceTime or Photos, it’s automatically blurred out. If your child is going online — and of course they all are now and you can’t hover over them to monitor what they’re doing — isn’t it good to know that tech can help?
