Which maternity package should you choose?

Image: onlyyouqj on Freepik

The maternity package that you choose depends on several factors. Consider the following:

  • Does your obgyn deliver there?
  • Location: is it close to your home in case you need to get there in a hurry?
  • Is it easily accessible, with ample parking?
  • Are there facilities for high-risk pregnancies and births?
  • Is breastfeeding supported?
  • Does it offer the option for a water birth (if you are planning to have one)?
  • Are doulas welcome (if you plan to have one)?
  • Can you take photos and videos of your baby’s birth?

Ultimately, the maternity package that you choose should be the one that lets you feel comfortable, supported, and empowered to have the kind of birthing experience you wish, and give your little one the best start in life. Here’s to a smooth pregnancy, and delivery for you and your baby!

All fees for the maternity packages stated in this article are estimates as supplied by the hospitals and their websites, and refer to normal delivery.
