This year, book-lovers and theatre fans alike can look forward to six different productions over almost four weeks at the SOTA Drama Theatre.

KidsFest regulars will welcome the return of well-loved favourites like Julia Donaldson’s The Gruffalo, where the quick-witted Mouse outsmarts the grizzly in the woods with lots of monstrous fun, and Room On The Broom, which offers a spell-binding broomstick ride — complete with a fire-breathing dragon!

We’re also eager to see the new ones in this year’s line-up! You can discover the strength of love and courage in Little Red Riding Hood, enter into an imagined world where mystical unicorns exist in the most unlikely of places in I Believe in Unicorns, or journey into space to find out why aliens are attracted to underwear in Aliens Love Underpants.

You can also watch the power of love unfold and learn the importance of believing in yourself in The Snow Child, another new production in this year’s KidsFest. This is a touching story of a lonely couple who build a small figure from snow, and wish very, very hard… until the strength of their longing brings a magical snow child to life before their eyes!

This moment of magic happens at the beginning of the story, but it’s not the end of the show! What comes after this, when winter gives way to spring and summer? Will the Snow Child and her parents live happily ever after?

We’re sure this story will resonate with parents and children alike. After all, The Snow Child is about the challenges faced by both parents and children when a child is different. And as we all know, every child is beautifully different in his or her own way…
