Yu Guo Chinese Physician

I guess you don't hv a very good experience with them, that's why you don't hv faith in them. Huang Yi shi does listen, so far I introduce 1 mummy to huang yi shi and she find her good, but there is another mummy who don't quite understand what she say, so it's really yuan fen. Maybe you and yu guo don't hv yuan fen. Unless you want to give it another try to see Huang yi shi, if it still don't work out, then you can look for other yi shi in other TCM clinics or you stick to western medicine. You can look for other recommendations in TCM threads if you are still keen.

If yr son is able to take chinese medicine, the effect will be much better than yao bao. If you tell yi shi, yr son don't take chinese medicine, it is very difficult for them to help yr son cos you hv closed up the most important source of cure. There is no other way of getting better than taking chinese medicine, as I find yao bao ( more for babies) does not work as well as taking chinese medicine for older kids.

Most importantly, you must hv faith in chinese medicine if not, it's pointless to bring yr son to see chinese physician.

Hi Ping Ping, am wondering how many times or how long usually for your child to get well from cold after visiting Yu Guo?

Hi easy,

I hv answered yr question posted on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 - 11:09 pm:. Like I hv mentioned above, it depends on how serious the cold is, the healing ability of the child, and the food he eats during recovery. All these factors hv an effect on the speed of recovery. For severe cold esp cough with phlegm, I bring my kids to Yu Guo abt 2 times.

Hi mommies,
just brought my kid to Yu Guo at Kembangan last sunday morning and saw the names of the chinese doctor is Koh Tin Yock and Tang Joo Kok. Wonder why the chinese doctor's name are totally different with all the posting here?
Can please enlight me? TIA

Just went to Yu Guo today.. This is my 3rd time in 2 weeks. Saw Huang Yi Shi today, was told to avoid letting my chronic sinus son eat chicken on top of eggs and shellfish.. Wonder why the previous Yi Shi only advise on eggs and shellfish only even gave us permission to let son eat chicken.Son is still coughing with thick phelmge. Worried that may lead to wheezing again. He is seen by ENT specialist too so was given nasanex to clear block nose and clarytine for his nose allergy (Not much help too if not will not try TCM)..Since we decided to try TCM we took him off from western med.. But Now Huang Yi Shi put him back on the western med (only at night 2 hours after together Chinese med). Still gotta look out if he will wheeze if so must give him ventolin. Any parents there whose kids have to combine both TCM with western med? Saw some from this thread who advise to stop western.. We have ran out of options and Yu Guo is the last and final option. I paid $42 (include med and Tui Na) each time.. Siong financially (paid $128 in 2 weeks and if this is long term I can't imagine I can go there for long)and TCM is new to me so I feel so insecure like threading on thin ice here..But what option are there for me now.. Practically none now..

Hi Serena,

Is yr son on antibiotics or steroids? How old is yr son? Dairy food including FM also cause phlegm production, as well as cold and sweet foods including fruits. I saw in the thread where one mummy change to goat milk, and his son's phlegm is gone. However, every person's constitution is different. What work for one person may not work for the other, do keep that in mind. I do hv other recommendations for chinese sinseh, pls pm me if you are keen. If you hv any other questions, do pm me. I'll try my best to help.

This is the thread where the mummy shared.

Yu Gou do not take appt, so only way is to go there and take number then wait
sad.gif
but if you are seeing huang yi shi then you have to request when you are taking the number cos if Xu yi shi is around usally the patient will be assign to her, as she is the main children yi shi there.

Hi Serena Lim

Sorry to hear that you son did not get better after seeing the yi shi.
You might want to try seeing the yi shi consecutive for a few days cos this work for my son when he is around 1plus. On the first time we did not see improvement in his condition but on the second day after the tuina when we went back and he pass motion we see phelmge in his faeces after the third session he is almost all well. You can ask the yi shi if going consecutive for a few days will it help on the condition before doing it. Understand financially is a heavy bundle to go so many time but if better to get the children well as fast as possible, if drag on the medical bill might not be small too

Hi Kokoon

Koh Tin Yock is the main children yi shi there this is her dialect name. Here i think everyone call/known as her Xu yi shi. Tang Joo Kok is the main yi shi for adult, he do not usually see children, of cos this is also his dialect name, normally in the clinic people call him Chen yi shi.

Hope i have answer your question

Hi everyone, I brought my kids to Yu Guo for the 1st time for bronchitis. My gal enjoyed the tui na very much and slept well the whole night. But she refuse to eat the medication because it's so bitter. I tried all tactics from sweets to forcing her, the result was she vomitted everything.

Does anyone else face the same problem as me? Any advise? If the kids refuse the medication, is it worthwhile carrying on with the tui na i.e. does it help with the bronchitis condition?

Hi mummies,

Thinking of bringing my baby to Yu Guo for her persistent cough. Does anyone knows if 'huang yi shi' is still working there?

Hi Mummies,

Wonder any mummy has come across kids with tic problem? Like making involuntary sound such as clearing throat or shouting unintentionally....Is Yu Guo treatment effective for such kids? or any other recommendation? Many thanks in advance.

Hi,does anyone know how many sessions of visit is required in order to see result? Is it like after one visit then can cure or must go a few times? My son been having phlegmmy cough for almost 3mths and still not recovered yet. Taken 3 courses of antibiotics and tried nebuliser, problem still persists...haiz

sann,
its depends on how bad the cough is...
if its bad, they will normally ask u go consecutive days for like 3 days
normal cough, i just go once and take the med and it works for my boy

For chinese medicine,it take some time to see result,be patient. All babies n kids under my care is under YU GUO,more than 20 yrs x-p.

Huang Yishi is still there but I don't like seeing her. I prefer Xu Yishi. Because every time my kids have fever, Huang Yishi will say be careful it may lead to urinal infection. This doesn't make sense to me because fever is a symptom of urinal infection and not the other way round, and urinal infection isn't all that common. I also find her to be fiercer and rougher.

Xu Yishi together with her husband Chen Yishi are the founders and they have masters in TCM from China so they are always my top choices at Yu Guo.

For kids who don't like the medicine, u can ask for Yao bao, to put at the tummy. Otherwise I also mix into my son's milk. Otherwise... Juz force it down with a syringe.

TCM is long term healing. Don't expect immediate results. The baby massage improves immune system so if u go once a month it can help in long term improvement. A flu/cough can take weeks to heal. Western medicine tackles the symptoms to make the healing process less uncomfortable. While TCM builds up the body's ability to fight the virus faster. It's definitely not overnight. When I was a new mother, I was also very anxious but now I've learnt to take it easy. As long as they are active, nothing to worry.

Avoid cold drinks, heaty food and keep them warm. I guasha for them at home too whenever they get too heaty, helps to avoid falling sick. Also can boil cooling drinks every now and then.

And if I ever get pregnant again... I will definitely listen to old ppl and don take cold drinks... Cos my second child's lungs aren't very strong...

Btw for those with back problems after childbirth, the tuina there is very good too!

Hi there, my 8 month old baby has bad appetite. Till now she still refuses to eat semi solids like cereal, puree or porridge. Do u think going to Yu Guo will help? Also her milk intake is quite little and always drinks very slowly. When are the days huang yi shi is around? Thanks!

doozie,
i think its worth a try
my boy was eating ok but he was very very small sized
took him to yu guo for massage a few times and his appetite became better and put on weight to catch up with peers his age

Hi All,

Just bring my gal go Yu Gou see the Xu yi shi, to cure my gal cough, she cough very bad for 2 weeks, a bit of bronchitis symptom already.

Basically, a child will be consult by the Yi Shi first, then they will arrange tui na shi fu to do the tui na. So I think tui na is still alright, just need a comfortable yi shi to check and do the consultation and give medi.
My gal is better and better, but continuously go back 3 days for tui na and take medi.

Hi
My girl is very active and won't sit still tat kind and very wary of strangers...wonder if any mummies here child the same and still able to accept tui na??
I scare go there and end up unable to tui na cos i stay in west side and it is so far to go there. Scare of wasted trip.

Hi,
Would like to bring my 5mo to tui na to improve appetite, can anyone advise how much per session and for how long duration? Need to go how many times to see result? Any particular doc is better?

Thanks !

Anyone been to Yu Guo recently? How are their charges and waiting time? Plan to bring my 2.5 year old son on Sat.

JTShare ......

my son now 7y/old, been seeing Huang Yi Shi strictly since he's 41days old.

had extreme BAD experiences with Xu Yi Shi as finds her very conning $$$ yi shi, kept askg to go back BUT refused to tell me wat's wrong with my son when my 1st time OLD AGE mum !!

on our 1st consultation with Huang Yi Shi, was SHOCKED tt she told me all abt my son from head-to-toe incldg all inheritance illness from me to son. I like Huang Yi Shi as she does consult and tui na by herself though waitg time damn SUCKS !!! I witnessed myself kids of special needs under her had BEFORE and AFTER changes within 3-6months, even the parents too agreed their kids' changes.

Huang Yi Shi taught me simple dishes, food to refrain, etc to handle my son......she's the one who asked me to get 2nd opinon as she found out my son has asthmatic during NB .......went to NUH and was cfm frm Dr Lynette Shek ( PD in Allergy Rhinitis ) tt son has inherited asthma frm me. Dr Shek allows my son to have tui na & TCM medicine as we residing in Simei, travelled by train to NUH is tideous.

my son STRICTLY no matter how UNWELL, too MUST get tui na by Huang Yi Shi else he did tear down with other tui na yi shi ! my son used to be her TOP chart " naughty kids " ....

i was told tt tui na only manage till 6 then no more tui na liao. Since last year, i managed to change TCM clinic then realised without tui na for fever to subside especially .

many parents dun like Huang Yi Shi as she's too straight-forward speakg then i like coz' i pick up many ropes from her . Without her, my son's developmental milstones more delayed !!

Yu Guo sells tummy-plaster tt stops LS ( lai sai ) tt 1pc for S$2++ ( 3yrs ago ) ....... China retailing price : 30pcs for less than S$ 20 !! Since Huang Yi Shi recommended tis plaster, whenever my son has tummy unwell or LS ....... tis plaster STOPS everything ! Even relieved my PMS cramp !!!

for these 6 years, i spend on Yu Guo at least S$5,000++ excldg transportation fares !!

Eve of PH, after PH, weekends, school holidays ...... are FLOODED with 3 generations of families !!! If running fever, fever INCREASES more higher even with fever patch !!!

wanna see Huang Yi Shi on weekdays mornings, i usually reach clinic btwn 10:45am - 11:30am...... for afternoons, i veri kia see ..... reached clinic 1:15pm to get Q numbers.

every year holidays, i send son to Huang Yi Shi on day of departure and get medicine for winter holidays standby .......
