Year 2015 IVF mummies- to-be


yesterday finally go for official first Dr appt. i am wondering how many of you here choose specialist Dr under KKH and intend to deliver under KKH? I notice that the price for specialist and delivery is not cheap anymore. for single bedded, the cost can exceed $6k (half will be paid by medisave) ?
 
@kymkym i chose Dr Tan HH since he was my ivf doc. Intend to deliver at KKH since mine ste twins. Indeed.. Pte at KKH is not cheap and they do not have package.

hmm...my ivf Dr only perform ivf. so i can't go to her anymore. Actually i dun mind to go for 'ah-hoc' Dr since consultation and medicine will be subsidied. But i am concern when come to delivery, these 'normal Dr' can handle or not, esp if C-sect case.
 
That's my concern too cos i scared twinnies will premature. If so i will have to choose class b and below. Which means I can't choose Dr Tan to deliver for me. Scared the doc on duty anyhow stitch.
Everyday talking to babies telling them to stay inside gor as long as they can.
 
i am wondering can i go for normal Dr during consultation period with kk and swtich to private hospital like Nt elizabeth novena for delivery if cost is not much diff. but i am thinking what kind of Dr will be assigned to me to perform the delivery. my mum asked me to think twice since KK has all my record. it will be difficult for another dr to take over without any info.

For my #1, I saw my SGH Gynae n another private Gynae all the way till wk 30. Some private Gynaes have package so it's an additional few hundred bucks. Then closer to deliver date u decide who u more comfy wif?
 
I was also contemplating if should go to Kkh for delivery Curz mine is twins & also got chance of premature. But as I'm under private doctor now (Dr Chieng) if I go along with him for delivery den I can only go to some private hospitals.
My hubby & I worried to switch doctors as I've been with this doctor since start of ivf. He does delivery & he's pro-c sect. Since mine is twins im ok with it as natural might be risky for me & babies. But cost wise.....it's gonna be a lot!
 
Hi ladies, just to check. Anybody here uses Cyclogest as support for bleeding? What other support medicine were prescribe for you on top of Cyclogest?? Thanks.

I've no more bleeding (touch wood)....but today my doctor prescribed it for me. But I only need to insert & apply once a week. I asked him why, he said just to support pregnancy.
What exactly does this medicine do? Anyone can share?

Other than for this, he's stopped all my other hormone pills. I'm now on Obimin & iron pills (need more iron as its twins) only.

i was told if reach 2nd tri, no need to continue hormone pills....

agree dr rol pro c-sect... but if patient choose natural he is all in 2do his best.. as long as it's a rational decision..
 
I better have a chat with roland abt c sect. I want to go natural so long as there's no complications.
Congratulations @Chubby1314. Now, you soak in the happiness cause there's nothing much to expect till you hear the heartbeat.
 
Oh sorry, it's not cyclogest Thts prescribed for me. It's Crinone gel.... My bad, never read properly!

Oh & if intending to do delivery with Dr Chieng, just to share I spoke to him today regarding delivery & by October-November he's going to stop. Curz recently there's this debacle about the insurance thingy....he said a lot of doctors are going to stop doing delivery soon. He'll stop by end year & focus only on ivf matters.
 
Looks like the cost of gynae is going up firstly due to shortage of gynae who want to deliver and secondly to cover the cost of insurance... Conclusion: lose-lose situation for all except the insurance company. Sigh!

Hi all, can anyone advise how to calculate the no. Of weeks that we are in? From our ET date or? Also, regarding on the insurance thingy, what is it actually about and any source which I can read it up? Wishing everyone a happy Sunday ..:)

U can use the ivf calculator. Just google "ivf calculator", there are a few. They can go by ET date or ER (aka "ovulation") date.
 
Lol I m not that young like most of u so have to start tiking. I still have 4 frozzies n just paid the renewal storage fees last week.
 
@dolly_gal, me too! I'm 40 this year and planning to put in my frosties at age 42.
@idazah, met dr roland today. First qn he asked was: you going for natural? Haha... totally pleased with his qn. Of coz, I said yes!
My placenta is on the low side. Praying that it moves up. If it doesn't, I can't do natural delivery. Doc said it is not a concern now. He said we will worry after 36 weeks of it is still near the cervix. Other than that, at 21 weeks now, I'm just enjoying being kicked by my princess. :)
 
Enjoy the bb kicks, I so missed it.. now my little princess is down w running nose n cough, I m so tired w her crankiness...

Haha yay! Glad tht he's pro natural also. But all depends on patient's condition also. For me most likely C-sect Curz is twins...but guess its for the betterment of the babies too.
Hope ur placenta moves up!!
 
Hi all, I really feel like going to pay my last respect to LKY. Do you think it's ok for preggie to go? I'm thinking of going ard midnight hopefully its not so crowded and less hot...
