You can google, there's a lot.. Since it still small, it's very fragile, not only food and drinks that matter. Your emotional and stress level play part too dear.. Do not carry heavy things too..

You can avoid, spicy food, sharpy type of food or drink like pineapples, coconuts, food and drink that make your body heaty should be avoided too.. Half boiled eggs, raw food, half cook food all to be avoided.. I heard, Nuts also need to be avoided..
Consume healthy food and drinks.

Eat light and small portion, cause baby still growing.. Eat too much will make u suffocate and bloated easily.. and sometimes gives u vomiting..

I have a bad morning sickness and loss of appetite.. Gynae advised to eat small portion every 2-3hours.. Eat healthy and avoid food that is spicy, heaty, sharpy type, oily food.. more plain water and healthy intake..

Have u went for 1st check up?

Avoid the big fishes like king mackerel and big tuna, also avoid raw food like salads that are not prepared by yourself :)

Avoid greasy food, raw food and spicy and heavy taste food. If you have serious ms, you can try sparkling lemonade or juice to relieve your nausea, try to eat small portion and you can also drink chicken essence for digestion which is light and oil-removed to nourish both you n your baby.

Congrats.Avoid processed food /fast food and sugary stuffs..

Try to eat as much as healthy less oily and follow your taste instinct and choose healthy choices.

Went to adrain for 1st appt at 7 weeks and he advised that while it is good to eat healthy, our changing taste buds will prefer more tasty food like Laksa or fried chicken. At this point can just eat what we want as our LO are not absorbing what we eat totally.

Eat anything you want. Just exercise common sense - do not eat it if its not hygienic. Also avoid alcohol because there is no proven "safe" limit, and avoid smoking (and 2nd hand smoke). If you are sick and see a GP, always let them know you're pregnant so that they can give you drugs that are safe for the baby. If you believe in TCM you can google to find a list of foods to avoid in pregnancy (which I don't believe in so I didn't bother).

SG food quality generally quite ok - so I'm still eating raw vegetables, occasional ham and *good quality* sashimi. Also still drinking coffee/tea (1-2 cups a day), iced drinks, spicy food - essentially whatever I feel like eating. If anything that I'm about to eat doesn't taste or smell right (cooked or uncooked), I don't eat it. Of course, this is my personal choice. 21 weeks and counting!

Hi Blissful_mum0208, any idea when bb starts to share food with mummy? I just tested positive and is very worry cos during my two weeks wait, I ate food that i suppose it's not gd for bb like the following list. So I've been asking around and searching the net for mummies who had similar experience/concern as me.

1) Fish slice soup from hawker
2) Slice papaya
3) Chocolate & chocolate cakes
4) Yole frozen yogurt
5) Spicy like chilli & curry sauce food
6) Red grouper steamboat
7) Salmon

Just about after 8 weeks - when your baby is officially a fetus - is when s/he starts absorbing nutrients from you.

Fish is generally discouraged because of cooking practices. Raw seafood may contain listeria. As long as your fish is cooked all the way, e.g. home cooking, it will be fine.

Foods that usually have listeria (bacteria):
Ready-to-eat deli meats and hot dogs
Refrigerated pâtés or meat spreads
Unpasteurized (raw) milk and dairy products
Soft cheese made with unpasteurized milk, such as Feta, Brie, Camembert
Refrigerated smoked seafood
Raw sprouts

Other items like cooling type of fruits - watermelon, coconut, etc. or spicy foods is because they tend to induce contractions, so is best to avoid those too.

I tried to eat healthy in my first trimester but I was nauseous all the time and I could only stomach certain kind of food. So I ate whatever I felt like eating just to get some calories. I wanted to be healthy but my body just rejected all the healthy food. I think if you feel sick just eat whatever you want to get calories. If you feel well then eat healthy food i.e. steamed or boiled instead of fried. Eat lots of fruits and veggies. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Now that I am in second trimester and no longer sick, I try (try!) to eat healthy.

I personally don't believe in avoiding "cooling fruits" but that's just me. These fruits contain a lot of vitamins that our body needs.
