Your baby’s first 12 months of life are marked by milestone after milestone from learning how to roll over, sit up and crawl to growing those first few baby teeth and experiencing “real” food for the first time. One especially existing milestone is the move away from simple stage 1 puree into the more complex flavor and texture combinations of stage 2. Your baby needs to get used to the process of eating – sitting up, taking food from a spoon, resting between bites, and stopping when full. These early experiences will help your child learn good eating habits throughout life.
Stage 2 includes the age group of 6 to 8 months
When babies are 6 to 8 months they can eat stage 2 baby foods, which include single-ingredient and combination foods that are strained instead of pureed. Stage 2 baby food may be roughly pureed, blended or strained, they maintain a thicker denser consistency and may include small chunks for your baby to gum around in their mouth.
The food that you are giving to your baby should contain the goodness of vitamins, calcium, fiber, proteins, energy. In the early stages, your baby wants you to understand the actions which he/she is doing.
During 6 months your baby will start responding to particular words and have a better sense of the world around them. During stage 2 your baby will start learning new things, and it’s a great time to watch them learn. They will start growing fast and even try to sit on their own, try standing on their own and fall many times and the most interesting thing is they will never give up.
