Travel to Tokyo

Hi Mandy,
I have not gone to Tokyo within the past 12 months but intend to go soon. It seems like there's always the risk of things happening again within the next few years, but from what I've heard, it's fine to go for holidays. I have some acquaintances who live there and they say everything is normal, especially in the city.

Hi..I was in Tokyo in Dec 2010 and Dec 2011..i have 2 boys..my son were 6 and 1 in 2010 and 7 and 2 in 2011 when we travelled with them to Tokyo.

My friends in Tokyo say it's really ok too. But of course, up to your comfort level... If I had the time and money to go back now, I would ;p

2 of my cousins' preg Fren went Japan n came back n realised their bb have deformed n have to abort n told not to get preg within e next 3 years.
This made me change my mInd gg to Japan. My tic n accommodation r already booked n now I change destination. Cos I hv young kids n also traveling w young couple, so on e safe side, better to be more cautious.
I did write to MOH n spore embassy based in Japan. Their advice is safe to travel. But dun drink their tap water, veg n fruits fm affected prefectures. But how do we noe tt wat we eat at e restaurants, e veg n fruits r not fm affected prefectures?
Do a search online n u will see articles like Japanese parents refused to let their kids to take e food provided fm sch cos worry tt e sch will buy e affected veg n fruits cos it cheaper.
Well, it is a personal choice. I also hv frens jus went. Japan n came back n they r okie. But they r single or not preg.
Bringing kids along n if hv plans to conceive, then beta think twice!

I also prefer to err on the safe side when it comes to our babies.. but just wondering.. a lot of the stories/ accounts I've heard are from friends of friends, never someone I really know. Would you be able to share more on your cousins' frens' stories? Also how true is it that if go there, advisable not to get pregnant in the next few years?

I dun noe my cousins' frens personally. Jus tt my both cousins are aware of my Japan trip so both of them advised me against it by telling me their frens' stories.
Tt why I wrote to spore embassy n MOH but their reply din explained much n they can't confirmed on these cases.
So it really up to yr own decision. My decision is tt I dun want any regrets if something will to happen to my family jus cos of this trip. Def not worthwhile.

Hi, Same I also feel better safe than never. Just that in persuading some of my friends I feel that needs more conviction. So far all I've heard are all friends of friends stories. How come no personal stories shared on net etc.? Hope some will share more
