soy based formula milk safe for baby boy ?

Hi mummies,

Any advice on baby boy on long term soy milk due to lactose intolerance ?

My son is 4.5mth old and has loose/watery stool when drink normal milk(Nan HA)....

What happen was last month he had an infection and on antibiotic for few weeks. He started diarrhoea due to the antibiotic so we switched him to soy based milk powder. He completed the antibiotic on 8/11. Now, when we tried to give him normal milk, his stool become watery again so we have to continue the soy milk and he has been on the soy milk for 1 month plus already...

Heard that soy is phytoestrogens and it is bad for baby boy as it will have hormonal effect(breast problem) on the boy.

Any mummies with baby boy on soy milk ? pls advise...

It totally depends on the baby. Some babies do well with soy milk others don't. Some do well with cow milk others don't. I have been giving my baby Enfamil Prosobee after I found out Enfamil Neuropro, the cow milk formula, was not really working out for him. I think it is wise if you see a doctor and get a consultation. My recommendation would be to try feeding him Nutramigen.
