Hi everyone!

I chanced upon this thread while searching for preschools in punggol

Anyone has any recommendations for childcare or preschool? It seems that all childcare centres have a long waiting list...or at least those that I have called.. SO now thinking of searching for a preschool..

I have a 4 yrs old and a 6 yr old. They are currently in a childcare centre in town near my office but I plan to quite to be a SAHM by next year when my boy goes to Pri 1. SO now frantically looking for a school in Punggol cos hoping to get them into the new school together before June this year so that my daughter will ease into the new school since her brother is with her as she is not as comfortable in unfamiliar environment as my son.

Once I get this settled, its time to stress over which Primary school to register my son for...endless worries of a mother..hahaha

I'm new to this thread as I just recently moved to punggol.

To Mel: I have a 3 yr old and 5 yr old and both of them are attending Dayspring Kindergarten in Punggol Marina club. I've met the teachers for both my kids and the principal and they are great teachers.

You might be interested to check out the school and meet the principal. The school is located inside the marina club, a bit inaccessible, but there's school bus. The environment is nice too with lots of greenery.. Btw, I'm staying at Punggol drive. I have another 5 months old baby gal and is a sahm:)
 
Dear all, my son has graduated from Blk 173D bright kids. Personally i find that the center is very good and value for money.

I have switched my son here from a montessori school which costs so much and frequent teacher changes.

In Bright kids, their teachers stays for long and are commited to it.

I especially like Ms fidzah, Teacher Geetha and chen laoshi.

Staying at Coralinus. Have 2 kids. 1 boy 3 years old and 1 girl 2 years old. My boy is currently attending full day childcare at Cherie Hearts @ Depot Road. The waiting list of the childcare centers in Punggol are too long. Since early last year till now, all no news, no updates.
Still waiting for the PCF childcare at my blk to open. My girl is currently taken care of by my domestic helper.

I hold a full time job and have recently started an online store on facebook selling baby and children clothings.

Shall not advertise my page here..

You may want to consider Cedan Child Development Centre at Blk 198 Punggol Field. Talk to the Principal Mrs Poh @ 63876648. I like it that the Principal teaches personally. She has e passion

My daughter is doing K1 there now. My son graduated from there too. He was only with the Centre for 1 year ie K2, because we shifted to Sengkang in late 2011. But I think he picked up quite a fair bit...

Give the centre a call. PM me if you need more info.

Hi mummies, I just withdrew my son from bright kids blk 192 after 2 days trial. I have waited almost 6 months for a cc vacant slot in punggol, but the condition at blk 192 is so unacceptable that I have to withdraw him and tender resignation at short notice as I couldnt find anyone to take care of my son. The teachers are not caring, shouting to the kids very often, I really pity those kids there... For those parents who currently placing their kids there, do pm me for more details...
 
Agnes, sorry to hear about your predicament! Its really not easy to get a place in punggol childcare centres, i dunno how many of these kids are still in there with the parents full knowledge about poor childcaring standards just becos they cannot afford to just pull their kid out and disrupt their work and need to make a living! I guess the childcare operator probably know that with such boh pian parents, there is no real need for them to get their act together and provide better standards! Or they could just be severely shorthanded, what with the operators need to make a decent profit and earn enough to pay the high rentals! Actually you can feedback to mcys andsee if their officer can make a trip down to check....actually i also ever witness teacher scolding the kids in a horrid manner when i passed by that childcare....i have posted abt it here earlier on....

Thanks for your encouragement. My 4 year old son finally called mama and papa this month. After so much effort and time, money spent. I sent him to a private therapist specialise on children brain gym, then only me and hubby realised his brain and body coordination not good due to some breakdown in spine and nervous system development.

The experience with KK n govt related assistance is not very good and not much improvement though...

I m now became a weight management consultant in helping people, include lots of mummies to lose weight healthily, regain their self-confidence. This allow me to hav time with my kids, helping others and yet earn the income for living.

Any interested mummies, whether on effective weight loss or looking for side income, you are all welcome to pm me.

I do understand your experience with KK and that make me dont really want to go for KK again.

Dont worry, things will get better since you already know what happen and can look into it rather then donnno what happen and feel helpless and why..

bright kids 192 really so bad? i have booked a slot for my baby for Dec after my maternity leave. how? but other infant care does not allow me to put the deposit and the waiting list is very very long

Finally my turn after staying n punngol for 9 years and I join this grp!
I am a mum to 2 kiddos.
My eldest is now 13 already, graduated from Mee toh . Balloted by luck in for dragon baby year 2000!

My girl now 29 months coming next week.

Yizhen, kindergarten is only enrollimg kids at age 4-6. But some private one such as church kindy do take in as young as 3 for Prenuresey such as st Anne church.

Sk - got some good cc such as Cambridge and kinder land. MMI too.
Depend on what your requirement. There are good n bad reviews for all centers. U can find in kiasu forum

I go workout in gym which is cheaper such as sport council in anchorvale and bradell height cc.
I also signed up for cc course like Pilates, yoga to keep fit.

Amore fitness is ex I feel. Is like paying $$ to get burn....

As for what newborn need, there are several lists that u can find online. Necessities would be baby cot, diapers, wet wipes, newborn rompers, shirts, swaddles, bottles and steriliser, breast pumps etc.

There's a baby fair at Taka starting next Thurs. Shopping around will give u an idea on what ppl get for newborns. HTH!
