Recommendation for cervical cancer specialist

Hi all

My mom has diagnosed with a rare type of cervical cancer. The gynae we went to did colposcopy and biopsy for her. He advise us to do PET scan to see if the cancerous cells had spread to other organs. If its already spread around, she needs to do chemotherapy to kill the cancerous cells first before the gynae can perform a hysterectomy.

We are planning to looking for a second opinion and a more specialised in treating cancerous gynae.

Anyone has any recommendations? Pls PM me if you dont wanna disclose the info here.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I'm going through a similar thing with someone close to me. I think the best thing you could give her right now is your support. Even if you think she has given up on the idea of fighting the cancer, your mother still needs you to make sure she has the quality of life she deserves. Whether one chooses aggressive treatment or not, simply the ordeal of having cancer is difficult and your emotional support can make a huge difference.
