Preterm Baby Hospital Plan

Hi all,

Has anyone purchased hospital plan for preterm baby?

My agent told me that he got two cases of baby born less than or on 37weeks but failed to buy hospital plan. The insurer will only accept after a year and it depends on baby health condition. Anyone has preterm baby but managed to buy hospital plan before 1 year old?

It depends on what is written in the health booklet of the baby. sometimes appeal can be done for such cases but it very much depends if insurer wants to take the case up or not

37 weeks is not considered pre-term so won't be a problem. It's 36 weeks and below where the cases will be postponed.

You can consider Aviva with moratorium underwriting for preterm babies hospital plan. But if your have been declined or postponed by other insurers you Won't be able to go for this option.
